Deer hunting BS thread

The wife brought back charcuterie board stuff from a baby shower... I cooked back strap

Not pictured, just found a bag of strawberries and pineapple, so a healthy dessert, well healthyish depending on when I can stop

 

Bumper crop of oak nutz of the white variety again for the 2nd year in a row.
Deer did a vanishing act at my place even though I have white oaks in my woods.
Think they dropped back deep in the nature preserve out back.
When the wind blows, it sounds like a hail storm in the woods.

When white oaks are dropping, these deer don't want to know anything else.
But,when they dry up...they'll be back.

 

Sounds same here...theres couple oaks on my property but havent been seeing much of anything. Squirrels been hitting the acorns hard too

 

Got some throw and grow out. Since the deer kinda vanished...

 

First day of archery here . Nothing around to get me excited and it’s too warm . Went up back made a mock scrape and put 2 more cameras out .

 

My food plot has a lot of weeds . I’m not buying anything to spray on it either . Whatever grows grows . Maybe next year I do some more work on it . No BIG deer here anyway

Youth season was Saturday, I went out to the shop Friday night and got the rifle ready for the kids. Came back in around 9:15 and a friend had ask me to help them move her dads stuff out of his house since his wife passed. Cole and I left at 6:30 Saturday morning and didn't get to hunt at all. That was okay though, not complaining.

Sadie and I went and pulled the camera card yesterday, there were deer all up in the new food plot Saturday morning with a couple of small bucks. She was wishing we could have went. I told her we have plenty of time, season just begun

 

Well Hells Bells.
I've been bitchn about the lack of Turkey sign since I got to the new place.
Look who showed up yesterday on the lower camera.
A good sign indeed.

The deer are somewhere else or they got them all

Yeah, wish i knew where they were. I got a few trees here but guess its not enough

 

They'll walk thru 50 acres of acorns just to get to a certain tree sometimes.

 

Theres some acreage not too far from here thats a "preserve"...prob where some are hiding
