I’ve got the Talon/TRD skid setup but am not experiencing any squeaking. I’ve got other Talon issues but not that one.

Not buying a long bed. Just HAD to have an OR w/manual and have suffered with this totally useless bathtub thing on the back of my truck for 4 years now. My ultimate plan is to get a decent small car for a DD and trade Taco for a Reg cab full size. With F-ing 8 foot bed.

This is also one that I struggled with. At the very least the 6ft bed would be a more useful space than the 5ft was. It's silly that my 4Runner feels more useful because I can get about 6 feet of actual space inside it

They do work great for that. I used to change mine once a year or after desert runs. Now I check it and it’s almost always clean.

I average 2 years on a filter if I stay out of the moon dust.

The pre cleaner at the top of the snorkel helps too.

You might have trouble finding a regular cab truck that isn't just a lunch box. Unless of course that is what you're looking for. I looked for a 2500 series regular cab with a few comfort options for over a year. Ended up with a one year old truck that was traded in as it was too big for the old guy who owned it. They don't make regular cabs with options or manuals because nobody wants them. So maybe you don't know what you want, but the nearest dealership does. Crew cab short box loaded with options. :anonymous:

I sometimes regret getting an double cab short bed. I didn't want a long bed double cab, those seemed hard to find and too long overall. I don't carry passengers much as in the beginning of ownership (1st year). If I would have got an access cab I'd have got the 6 foot bed with same overall vehicle length as my double cab short bed. There's a few times hauling lumber and sheet goods seems like the 6 foot bed would be better for that. I still love my truck though.

I still haven't come to that conclusion about the DCSB as opposed to the DCLB.

Access Cab was never on my mind.

At some point, I'll make room in my garage to park my Mall Beast...and a 6ft bed would probably not fit.

I'm thinking the DCSB will be a tight fit.

I have limited off street parking at my house off a private alley. The DCSB fits fine. I have use of the Neighbors garage for free. she doesn't have a car anymore and I take care of her yard and stuff for her. My truck doesn't fit in there as is. The garage is a few inches short that you can't close the door so I only ever parked it in there a few times to work on it if its raining.
If I ever buy another house a garage that the truck easily fits in is on the list of wants.

SPC UCAs. At the time I got them (spring of 2021), nobody was having serious problems with the x-axis bushings and balljoints, though, and were the default crowd favorite.

Toyo AT3s. Good traction but wore really fast and were down to 6/32nds in less than 20,000 miles. Not going to run them down to 4/32nds to make a warranty claim, and risk tearing them open on a trail.

I know what I want. Don’t know what a ‘lunchbox’ is, but a plain Jane regular cab is all I ever owned before I got my present DCSB. Extra doors and rear seat is a total bust for me. Like someone previously mentioned I’d be better off with a 4R. 4x4, A/C and CC is all I really would say are options I would want. I could live with an auto trans.

+1 on The Kappa's! I installed the 3 way's in my back doors. Installed the component 2 ways on my front doors and dash.
Added a Kicker 12" in sub with 12" in reflex behind the back seat. Driving them all with 1,000 watts of Kenwood 5 channel amp.
This is my second Tacoma to add this set up to. Only regret is that I did not remove it from the 1st one, to install into the 2nd one.

Comes just like this. Fits behind my back seat. I did have to take the plastic seat back off though. The speaker would vibrate against it.

I regret buying the Toyota mat and then drilling 4 holes so I could bolt it down using the bed screws.

I didn't actually add this to the truck but it was already in the Tacoma as I bought mine used. Bed Extender. Stupid thing is in my way more than not. I'd just leave it out all the time but then I'd just need to find somewhere to put it.

    I came from a sprayed-in Rhino on my Sonoma . . .
