But of an update on the truck.

Insurance has deemed me not at fault and have taken all my photos and will be sending me an estimate. If I seem it not enough I'll be taking the truck to a shop to get a estimate on what all is broken since behind the grill there is a lot of broken things.

They did give me the option of either.

    A. I get the check and I fix it or I take it to a shop and they fix it for me.

    B. We drop it off at a shop and they fix it.

With full coverage you being at fault or not doesn't matter. Or at least it shouldn't. Your insurance was going to pay either way. Find a shop that uses genuine Ford parts and get an estimate before your insurance comes at you with a low ball. That way you'll have it in hand and can get things rolling quicker.

So with my state an insurance company does not have to use OEM parts they can use something that is fit and finish... I do plan to get another quote for it so I can show them how much is actually broken just hard to get a few quotes since I gotta have appointments.

It definitely doesn’t hurt to get multiple quotes. They can vary wildly per shop, especially if there’s paint work involved. Doing paint right doesn’t come cheap.

some places also put way more work into the estimates to see what’s broken. Others just quote the few things they can see in 30 seconds.

insurance is a negotiation and it helps significantly to do your homework and have the facts to back it up.

Ya I've got an appointment for two shops tomorrow. So will get more info then. One is at a trusted Ford dealer that has always done well in the past on repairs.
