What kind do you have and how much caster do you have? I'm just curious how the caster differs between different brands/kits.

Camburg 3.5 race kit. 7deg but I think this could be on the low end for this kit

Yeah, can’t really knock it until it’s out in the wild. One thing all-pro has always had going for it was the value and passable performance allowed for more people to buy into experimenting with their suspension. Seen some people stick with the old 2” kits, while others upgraded when they hit the ceiling. All part of the journey. At least the new kit has a horizontal uniball, I guess. Idk what they mean by “modular.” Does that mean my JD fab control arms work with it? Jk jk

Tires looking cross-eyed? Or the heim angles looking extreme.

It’s because the tie rods are too short pivot to pivot as the LC rack is too wide in factory form. Introduce massive bump steer.. Exactly what you can see in these pictures.

I think it could be a really good kit, moving the rack and diff gives it more potential than other kits on the market to me.

all comes down to how well did they design the geometry, looks like they cut out a lot of antidive.

and for a big change like this it seems like the fabrication could be decently foolproof.

interested to see it hit consumers hands and get actual numbers, hopefully we don’t have to wait 3 years like rclt

To me it seems the geometry on the new AP kit looks quite a bit different, plus they have the whole replacement subframe/cradle/UCA/coilover tower replacement unit which is going to be a big difference. And along with that likely moving the diff a bit for CV angles I'd assume and stronger mounting for the LC steering rack. And to top it off, dual shock ready. So I'd also assume their design intent was not strictly rock crawling as the optimization, rather a more rounded kit that can also go fast.
Waiting to see more info released though but those are my observations

What I enjoy about that is it’s the TC coil over and Michael Allen is in their comments asking what is patented

I just can’t fathom cutting the front end off for the same travel a Dirtking kit will yield and not at LEAST getting a 10” shock out of the deal. So many possibilities absolutely slept on. But people will buy it. Because, idk why.

And if it is being built/offered as a Rock smacker id just go 1 tons all around and have https://martecnv.com/ build it.

That’s pretty tempting vs the cost for this new kit. Wonder what their price is for labor/turn key?

It may look tempting. However. The cost of building a really nice one ton axle is actually astronomical. 10-15k for front and 8 or so for rear. Then you still have steering, shocks, driveshafts, a t-case that can withstand tons etc. you’re talking a 100k build for a solid turn key SAS on tons.

Yeah building a strong solid axle is spendy as shit. We just did a mid-level built TG housing one at Toyota IFS width for my buddy's truck and the parts for that alone are like nearly 4k

Yup! I helped a friend assemble a 60 front he went nuts on and had 8k wrapped into it from the knuckles out. Locker, gears, axles and truss added another 5 on top of that.

Crazy part is, these 1 ton fronts in factory form aren’t all they’re made out to be. Knuckles break, axles don’t hold up, locking hubs are awful brakes suck etc.

Okay, so what about a "good enough" build?

I was on a mid-travel 33" setup for a while, now I'm on the Depo +2" w/ 35's... we don't have the land to hit whoops at 45 mph.

I do want it to be safe enough to DD and fun for shenanigans, but I'm also ballin' on a budget.

Depends what good enough is to you. Probably 60-70 if youre paying someone. Labor basically remains the same whether you use junk yard axles or really nicely done axles. So at that point. It makes more sense to just do it right the first time.

05 super duties, trussed, 42’s, full hydro, four link front and rear, DOM driveshafts etc. this is what I was in parts. Add another $2k for random stuff I left off. Steel, tube, bolts etc. Could be done for less and definitely less work and a mind fuck if three linking the front. Really don’t think trusses are necessary for these trucks. They aren’t power plants. Pre 05 super duties would be a bit lighter too. The sky is the limit with axle builds, you can over spend super quick. Best to break it and upgrade it if need be.
