Man getting sideswiped by a truck in heavy traffic and not having any injuries, I’d consider that a win at the end of the day.

Sucks it happened at all but that was probably the best case scenario given what happened.

    +1 to that!

Some mild road rash on his knees and he's sore AF. He just ordered front/rear camera set up to install on the bike.

What setup did he go with? I’ve been looking at a few options. I was interested in the Chigee screen + camera system but you can’t remove the screen off the bike, which I don’t like.

I'm a cynic about this, but he was there, so if he'll give him benefit of the doubt, I suppose I can too. It's gotta be on somebodies dash cam, tho.

Still, could have been much worse. Glad he's ok.

He's the only person I know who's had to replace a bike exhaust because it rusted out from being ridden not from sitting in storage somewhere.

You'd like Blaine. He used to be the area Moto Guzzi dealer, I think in the 80's? He road raced for them and was actually pictured in one or two of their ads back in that time.

I actually know the author of that article through the Guzzi scene. Good dude and rational Guzzisti...owns other makes as well.

I'd be curious to know what model Guzzis Blaine held onto. Says he likes adv bikes. Wonder if there's a Quota in the fleet.

Really glad he's here to tell the tale.

I’m thinking that’s still too big. I was thinking of something more dirt bike related like a DRZ.

For BDR stuff I'd go for something like the CRF 300L Rally for the added fuel capacity. Don't want to be in the middle of nowhere needing a fill up. Yes, you can get cans or armadillo bags, but why not just have a bigger tank to start with? Less to fiddle-f**k around with and always there. Maybe the new and improved Himalayan? IDK enough about it to say one way or the other, but Dork in the Road said it was leaps and bounds ahead of the first iteration.

I’d love a CRF but it’s outside my budget. I’m looking for something cheap that I can sell after to recoup most of my money.

Ok, and what city in CA are you in again? I'll poke around a bit and see if I spot anything. NGL, it'd be pretty cool if I could find two bikes that you buy.

Thanks!! That would be pretty awesome. I’m in the Bay Area (near San Francisco) but I don’t mind driving a bit to find the right bike. The Super Tenere you linked was in SoCal!

I assume you want it to be lighter than a KLR, right?
