Even two Nitto 33s for the front to make them match would be around $800 after taxes, which is a hard pill to swallow.

The loan was a 48-moth term at 8.5% interest. If I paid the minimum monthly premiums of $188, I'd ned up paying about $1300 extra in taxes, but I was planning to sell my truck and/or pay it off way faster than that with my sign on bonus and bigger paychecks in Idaho.

No but I just figured it's take a lot to get a blowout on such a tough tire, since they're designed to withstand jagged rocks and the like.

That loan rate is at least pretty average for a used car loan these days. I would've guessed you had an 18% loan ready to go lol

They just pushed back my start date until they had enough work ready for me and I was able to find a place. My rent is only 350 a month tho which is nice.

I work in a prison and even the folks here would say they aren't as predatory as that loan

I was actually surprised it was under 10%. Still not ideal, but the idea was to front me the money until I can sell my truck and get my sign on bonus.

    Ahh nice, private property

I take it back, I shot hogs on some CO's property that had bought a car from the dealership I worked at

We had mutual friends after we got to talking, and invited me over cause he never tried night vision before

    Ok, again stop.

You should never count money you don't have.

And you should never borrow money unless it's a sound investment (and only if you're borrowing for cheap).

This is why I say you can't afford it.

That is probably the better option. I'm just dreading driving the POS all that way lol.

    Imagine having money set aside?

    It's a comforting feeling having a savings

this, you seem like you grew up where food on the table was never a question, and now are in a scenario where it is. Put the rectangle down, uninstall some social media and get a second job for 6 months. build up some emergency savings, and then a make yourself happy fund.

I can't wait to check out some of these garage sales this weekend

I typically never go, since it's usually old people peddling garbage but sometimes there's cool stuff

One dude had a broken down lathe as he used to be a machinist some weeks back; stopped by while I was driving around town and saw tools in the background
