Is that a black label? I picked this brand up last summer, gave the bottle away after trying to like it. it was heavy on the malt and I just don’t care for high malt bourbons. The one I got was Bottled in Bond and a blue label. Does this differ or same mash bill?

My sister lives in Boulder and her husband likes this stuff. 51% Corn, 44% Malted barley, 5% Rye

Allegedly it doesn’t taste super malty despite being pretty malty.

At least the good reviews aren’t coming from only Fred Minnick. That’s a man whose publicly stated opinions on bourbons should be trusted about as far as you can throw him. He writes good reviews for whoever pays the highest dollar. His top 100 bourbons of 22-23 is an absolute assault on logic and taste buds. I won’t listen to anything he says, only my own review.

Mixed reviews??? On HH BiB??? I’m stunned. That’s a staple in the whisky world. One of the best you can find and buy. You’ll enjoy it.

I like it. Good bang for the buck. It's funny, I see it in the $45 range from time to time....and other times, it's on the allocated shelf for $90....I don't get it. I prefer McKenna, in the same price range, though some people say the production quality is inconsistent. Every time I find the Heaven Hill BiB on sale, I grab two bottles, because it's a great value for the consistent flavor profile.

My thoughts as I keep getting offers on FB Bourbon collector sites ($700 + super rare), lol.

I was pulling for the O’s. I’m going to game 1 of New York v KC. I was hoping to see Baltimore. This will be my first MLB playoff game. Looking forward to it.

I only watch Fred Minnick for his musician interviews, and to try and find out his latest choice in fine ascots. Then again, he's generally on track with a lot of the profiles I like.

Cracked the bottle last night. Some first thoughts. Positive reviewers suggest notes of vanilla and stone fruit but I didn't really get that right away. All in tho, it was a great sipper.

Hey all, here is a good poll question for the crowd. Which YouTube channel is your favorite whiskey review channel (s)? Example, Brewzle, Whiskey Channel dot com, Mash and Drum, Drum and Drams, ADHD Whiskey, SLB Drinks?

Lately I bounce between ADHD, Whiskey Channel Dot Com, Your Drinking Buddy, and SLB Drinks. Brewzle used to be my go to, but man, some of that content is just ..."I don't like it"...I don't like it.....I don't like it.

I prefer to read reviews. Only because so many YT reviews just cannot get to the point.

This is exactly what I was gonna say. Hard to sit through 10 minutes of a YT video when I can read a written review in about one minute or less. Plus written reviews tend to more reliably have all the specs and background on the bottle too. There are some particular sites I usually like but time after time Reddit is best because you get multiple reactions to the bottle in one place and there’s unlikely to be $$ funding the review.

Honestly at the end of the day no one’s review matters except your own. Many times I’ve tried bottles and completely disagreed with the good or bad reviews I’d read on it. It isn’t an objective thing like, does this tool work well? It’s taste buds and personal preferences. People’s palates are wildly, wildly different.
