Nothing gets this thread going like @Ozark_RegCab with a new Idea.

I'm not sure if I can get past the mismatched tires front and rear. I looked it up and the difference in diameter is nearly half an inch for those two tires - that's not negligible. Granted, the Yokos are pretty worn, so they *might* be "close enough".

So, I'm glad you're convincing yourself out of it

What blows my mind is the reason you chose to dissuade your purchase

It's like "I'm not gonna snort coke because it's expensive" while ignoring all the other reasons why you shouldn't

Well I was just thinking that sales tax, interest, and tires alone would be 3k easy, which would go a long way towards getting the Tacoma up to par.

I have a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/75R16 that came on the LX470. It was a matched set. I think one has a slow leak. Let me look at them. They have been sitting for two years. Maybe not worth messing with.
The Cooper Evo MT 285/75R16s that I run on the LC are my 2nd set. They are not an expensive tire. IIRC they weigh about 54lbs each. Here's the deal with those tires. They work so well in mud and on snow and ice that I am afraid to change tire brands. They don't last like a Falkin Wildpeak. But for what I do, I like a sticky tire that I don't need to worry about.

Hm. That may actually be the exact same tires that are on the rear of that truck (pictured below). Please let me know if at least two of them are decent. It may be worth at least considering.

Estate sales can be so hit or miss by me. 90% of the time it's old peoples junk that the estate sale company wants way too much for. There can be a gem every now and then though. I scored 100 rounds of surplus match grade 30-06 for the garand at way less than online asking price at one a few months back. There was tons more too, but my wallet told me no.

Color me shocked you found a place that will finance a 20 year old vehicle with 300k on it.

Credit unions are the shit man. Idk why anyone bothers with the big corporate banks tbh.

I'm a member with one of the largest CU's in my area. I don't think they'll touch anything older than 8 years.

Glued up most of the PVC for my water table

Just need to add some sort of mesh or something on top to keep big chunks out from going down the drain

This one will finance just about anything if the price is right. I think it made it easier that we’re not talking about a huge sum of cash here.

The good credit unions typically won't, they're big for a reason

Golden Credit Union is a big one in CA and I've used them before, freaking amazing rates

The smaller ones that will provide a loan like the one described for the 100 series typically does nothing more than that; you'll never get a house financed with them because they're just not that big financially
