Sprig advised some time back (a TW STC?) that I go with the 4600 (yellow shocks) as a softer versus stiff riding 5100 (silver) shocks. The ACLB carries a Century Ultra Series cap with the American Outdoorsmen Package, a hefty unit (Reference: centurycaps.com.) Would 5100s still be advised? (Considering Falken WildPeak AT4W LT when tires are timed out in 2030...)

I can confirm 5100s will ride rougher. Gives the truck a  "Jeep ride effect." It's all in your intended purpose. My intent was better off-road capability, so I accept the rougher ride. I don't think the cap weight would make a difference on either shock, but what do I know about such things, I put boxes on airplanes. I can say my 700 pound Quad makes Stitch squat noticably on the 5100s, mainly because my fronts are set to bring the front end up leveling the truck, i.e. no rake. So that amplifies the squat effect under load. :notsure:

Everything was allegedly inspected both by my shop and the alignment shop. I'm hoping all is good.

What I had installed are the OEM Yellow Bilsteins, which are not 4600's. I believe these are softer then the 4600's. And the 4600's are softer than the 5100's. Slightly different valving from my limited understanding.

Hello all... I saw a 3rd gen almost identical to mine...it had steel wheels like mine...but they were chromed. Looked very sharp. Question for my fellow stockers here...Is that an available wheel or did that person have them spray chromed?

    Funny you mention that..
I raced a couple years at Loudon. My coach, Growler, and a bunch of us were in the pits one day and he said he wanted to do some two-up to see how fast he could get his lap times. I volunteered. He had a 999S. We both got our knees down
There was a photographer (Owens Racing Photos) and theres pics in the archives somewhere from ‘07-‘09. Young and dumb. But if I trusted anyone it was that dude.

I'm surprised to hear that the TRD shocks feel better then the 5100's. I replaced the entire suspension with a TRD take off stuff when I got my truck 4 years ago. I always felt that the TRD OR feels a bit firm. I have 4600's on the T4R and love the way that it drives compared to the Taco.

I’m sitting in the waiting room at my mechanics shop. Getting the oil and filter changed, yeah I know, lazy ass. Been going here for 30 + years, great outfit. Some young guys bought from the original owner, same quality and trust. It’s nice to know they will be around long after I need an oil change.

The T4R doesn't have leaf springs? Is that true?

Also the weight distribution is very different.

The GF reallly digs the fourrunnners. Gonna be either that or a hybrid Mazda next for her.
