I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport.

    310K Km

I've owned it since brand new.

Ever since brand new when I turn the fan on and then press the AC button I heard a suction hiss noise for a second and then the cold air would start blowing.

Today when I turned the fan on and pressed the AC button I didn't hear a suction hiss noise and the fan continued to blow room temp air.

I checked both the AC fuses under the hood and they are fine.

When I press the AC button it lights up green and stays lit up

Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

I want to try and fix it myself since money is a bit tight.

Kind of suggests the system is low on refrigerant or empty which would mean a leak, the system should have dye in it that glows under UV light which can help find a leak.

I'm pretty sure 17 uses R1234yf refrigerant instead of 134a, yf is much more expensive.
