they don’t come in +20 and I don’t want a lot of poke outside the fenders. Also here it wouldn’t pass our safety check if tires stick outside the fenders. Dumb law but it is what it is

I'll be one of the first in line for the first third party company that produces an aftermarket solution to the felt wheel wells. I can't believe they put that shit in there along with a felt skid plate???

I am little taken back by all the cost cutting, while charging a premium. Definitely looking at taking my dollars elsewhere.

That looks fantastic to me. I fear that you'll have some rubbing at full stuff, full tilt, while doing any serious off-roading. Hope I'm wrong, and I'd love to hear back after a few hardcore adventures.

I like the way those rims look. Now I’m wondering how much I can get for my red pro rims w/ stock tires after I upgrade

I’ll keep you posted. But after casual off road in the lava fields. No rubbing and I feel confident it will be good for my needs. I don’t do crazy Offroad - if I did I would do a bigger lift when available. I’m getting old and don’t need the big truck anymore. All about the kid and family for fun.

I hear you. I'm getting older as well (kids are now in college) and I no longer need to be living on the edge of a cliff. When I eventually get a 4th Gen (probably late 2025 when the 2026 is available) I'll likely put 34s on it like yours. I had to do a suspension lift and a body chop to get 33s to run without rubbing on my current 1st Gen.

I have a TRD OR (non-hybrid). The stock wheels that come with the truck are 265/70/17 on a +55 offset. I switched my wheels for the ones on the trailhunter, those wheels are 265/70/18 and the wheel is actually a +25 offset.

Oh shit! 295/70/18 is my dream tire. Been waiting for someone to try it. Given the TH wheels are +25 (I think), I assume I’ll be ok with no mods? No removal of the safety horn/plate! Wow! How is it at full wheel lock? How’s it riding with the extra weight?

OK - that looks fucking amazing and love that there’s no excessive poke—I knew the wide flares would be put to excellent use!!!!

EDIT: as I myself mentioned in this thread, offset in TH stock wheels is +20, so while that bodes well for fitment I’ll need to decide if I want all that poke .. next obvious option is 285/70/18 which should be a super conservative route

Is that pretty much exactly flush with the fender flare?

It has about 1/2-3/4 inch poke for the tire side walls. The main thread of the tire is flush

Why mad about that look? Cause they are 34 and not 33 or 35?

The AT4W are even more enjoyable than the AT3. I had those on my 3rd gen previously (in 285/70r17)
But after getting those wide tires, I definitely preferred the skinnies I had (255/80r17) Toyo AT3s.

Given how much quieter the 4G trucks are than 3G, im certain this felt lining is a contributing factor. There is far less road noise

Why did you prefer the skinnies / toyos

It was a stupid question as my mind somehow forgot about the fixed front / rear differential

Maybe bad phrasing on my behalf, I liked the falken AT4W more, but the skinny tires were far nicer to drive on. They did not ‘float around’ as much on pavement (in asphalt ‘ruts’) (which they presumably are affected by due to narrower track width than most things that are heavy enough to cause this rutting) and they did not ‘plow’ loose material as bad (like driving on loose gravel or in mud) but rather cut in, as is the point. You also get a lower rotational mass that way, with skinnies.

Check out the thread ‘The Skinny on skinny tires’ or something in the 3G forum!

When I eventually get a 34-35” tire, I’m hoping to keep it to 265 or 275 at the most. My current trailhunter weights a fair bit more than the 3rd gen short box gas job, so i expect a proportionate increase in performance to surface area from an extra ~10-20mm width over a 255 wide.
