Cracked open my bottle of Eagle Rare.
This bottle didn’t break the bank. I’ll definitely purchase again.

 

I walk right past Buffalo Trace, and Blanton's these days, Eagle Rare is just better for the $$. The prices have finally settled down around here, about $55 on average. I remember when it was $90...so dumb.

 

Amazing. This years I've heard is better than last years

 

I visited the distillery in Hye over the summer. The distillery is located way out in the hill country. It is a cool place to hang out and their offerings are tasty. My wife liked their HoneyDew and I like the Balmorhea.

My only issue is that their products are priced quite high. Maybe I will pick up a couple of bottles the next time I am in Austin visiting my son.

Lottery win from TW for the fall draw. Never had this one, heck, never even seen it with live eyes. But the hope for a CYPB draw continues

I just got home from work and don’t have to be back until the 14th. My first sip of vacation.

 

2nd day into the JT Mellick rice whiskey. If you didn't know it was Louisiana rice whiskey you would swear its Kentucky bourbon. At 122 proof, its a bit proofy up front. It settles into traditional brown sugar, vanilla and some peach notes. Great flavor up front, fades off mid palate, but then comes back for a lingering corn liquor flavor.

A few drops of water and its similar to Makers Mark. Without the water, id say its similar to rare character straigjt bourbon, without the rough edges

Yep, ill be buying more!
