can you tie into the front speaker feed to get a power boost to the rears? or does that just underpower both?

I wouldn't replace the rear speakers since it's so low powered. Big waste of money.

I spliced the rears to run to my under seat powered Sub. Works like a charm.

Yes, reviving this thread, as it's been revived recently. I've read the several threads regarding this issue and it is hard for me to believe it is normal. Widespread, yes. But intentional? Uh, no. A few out there saying they do not have this issue. The general consensus is to just throw more money at it. I get it, Toyota isn't willing to admit anything. I just think if everyone accepts mediocrity, we will surely receive it.

    Pretty satisfied at the moment
Yep, I just wanna rock out on my adventure!
Anyway, I did try looking up "rooting" the HU hoping that it might just be a software bottleneck but all my research has lead me to a hardware bottleneck.

It's an all-around upgrade pickup in 66.667% of all aspects, everytime

Is an inline amp like the kicker key usually the simplest way to help balance out the rear speakers?
Also where would the power cable for that usually be ran through the firewall at?

Kicker key 200.4/500.1 here with focal rse-165 and rcx-165/jl stealthbox and oem head unit. The keys clean up/fix a lot. Improvements to rear speakers, but they're still not quite on the level I'd prefer. Sound quality is 10/10 with the DSP though. Planning on swapping in a Sony 9500es soon.

Ground under/near the driver seat if you peel back the carpet. There's a grommet right next to the brake master cylinder. Snake the power cable under the drivers seat carpet and under/along the trim by the door and feed through the firewall behind the brake/gas pedals and through the grommet hole, along the drivers fender and to the battery.

Do you have the amp placed under the drivers seat?
