Was listening to Revzilla's Highside/Lowside podcast while napping the baby today and it was their 100th episode, so they had some 100 themed questions and common guests answer them. They got me thinking and I felt some of y'all might want to answer them:

    1) When/where was the first time you went over 100mph? What bike?

    2) If you had to do 100mph for 100 miles, what bike would you choose?

    3) What is the best 100 mile stretch of road you've ever ridden?

    4) if you had $100 to mod a bike, what would you buy? (This one was meh in my mind, not much you can do with $100 and mods these days)

    5) If it was your last 100 miles ever riding, what bike would you want to do it on?

    For me..

    1) I *think* it was on the north/Washington side of the Columbia gorge coming back from Portland on my F800GS. It was miserably hot and I told myself I wouldn't go faster than the temperature. After going 90something for a while I *think* I dipped into the 100s just to say I did. If I was wrong, then it was on the S1000XR coming back from getting it. That was the first time going well north of 100.

    2) I'd probably pick a newer goldwing and just live in fast luxury for an hour

    3) Lolo pass going from Idaho to Montana, 100 miles of mid-speed curves and winds while following the Lochsa river down a mountain pass

    4) This one was meh, but it was one of the questions they asked so I included it.. I'd go luggage. Tank or tail bag.

    5) Last 100 miles ever, I might want my CB750 back and relive some of the feelings I had on that bike, just cruise along for a while

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I appreciate the all the kind words and offers. I am blessed in so many ways. I will keep you all posted as to what’s going on.

I am heading back in the am to help my community. Tell those you care about that you love them everyday :) Brapppp, the stable was looking good :) picked up a 501 and a new 350!

    1. The bolt it took me a bit to actually do it but shortly after the gf moved in I was riding home from work and got a large open stretch on the highway and wondered what the bike could do.

    2. Prob goldwing or something similar so I can be comfy lmao a Ducati would be fine but my back would prob crumble lmao

    3. Uhh I've never had a nice 100 mile stretch of road tbh since most roads out here that are nice are short so idk.

    4. Something simple like pegs or highway pegs

    5. Hmm that one idk I wouldn't mind riding my old klx in sm trim again but not that far haha.

    1. Never have. Super Tenere has been a hair over 90 is all, and that was to catch up to my buddy. It was on I-25 between Capser and Buffalo for our trip to Devil's Tower.
    2. I don't think you can go wrong with a Goldwing. It's got the power and comfort to make that as enjoyable as possible.
    3. I'm a noob, so I don't have a 100 mile stretch. The road between Manila, Utah and Vernal, Utah would be great if it weren't for all the animals, traffic, and beat to shit campers that lose parts on the road. I ran that on my VTX1300 on a trip, and it was pretty good. I've driven it in cars/trucks since then and I don't think I want to attempt it on a bike again because of the issues mentioned.
    4. At that price point? Doubletake mirrors.
    5. 2014 Honda Goldwing Valkyrie, in blue/black. I just want to know what it's like to ride that bike.

Alright facetimed the guy with the 701 supermoto and learned some things.

    1) definitely has a countershaft leak, I figure that's not too in depth though, not a big deal in my mind.
    2) learned that the exhaust, intake, and tune w/ a power commander w/ ma[ switch and tune by rottweiler, were all done at the start of the summer, same with new tires3) learned WHY they were done at the start of the summer. a "crazy ex gf" flip his bike on both sides in an argument. Insurance replaced all the plastics, exhaust, everything. Right side case still has a scratch, but it was backordered and he traded that value for the intake.

I'm 90% sure I'm going to do it. Still clean title, not rebuilt title, who cares if it got plastics changed out, honestly the newer the better IMHO. The bike will be more fun around town, easier and cheaper to maintain, easier and cheaper to modify, and I get to try a new bike. I really don't need a bike that can do 80+ mph in 1st gear, right?

I told him I'd text him later today, but I think if I go for it we can meet halfway this Friday.

Pushed to both sides. Sounds like pushed over, he picked it up, pushed over again.

But, the fucker just told me it’s financed. So that’s probably a two month process for him to get a clear title if he can pay it off even. We’ll see what he says, I was out apple picking with the family when he sent that and just responded to him. Really hoping it’s a local bank, he has the title, and the bank can sign/stamp and release interest of it.

Sunday Biker Breakfast in Poolesville, MD yesterday. I just recently learned of this on through a friend on FB so I asked if I could tag along. Featured marque was "Italian Bikes" and they got preferred parking if they wanted.

It's held in the parking lot of a small strip mall behind a bank from 9-11 on the first and third Sunday of each month. I'd say during the time I was there roughly 150-250 bikes came and went.

Heavily modded V-Max was one of about 6 present. Lots of custom touches on that one.

One year only 1983 Honda CX650 Turbo. Owner told me he had always wanted one. He ended up buying 4 of them then mixing parts to make the best possible bike. This one showed 13k miles. He later sold the other 3 and told me one went to Jay Leno and another shipped to Germany.

Honda NV700. Popular in Europe and used as a police bike. Saddlebags are not removable but have a "pass though" compartment that runs from side to side allowing the owner to carry documents or large items up to about 30" in length. I always thought they were pretty cool but needed a little more power.

If he can get the physical lien-free title, I'd still do the deal. I'm not going to do the trade without a title in hand, not that dumb.

And meh, I'm $7500 into the S1000XR right now. I figured stock 2021 701 goes for about 8000-8500, lots around me listed at 9 or 10k. His has a $1000 akro pipe and $1000 intake and tune system. In my opinion/valuing, it's a pretty even trade. I get to try a new bike, get one that is going to be more fun for the riding a do, get one that is 5 years newer, and get one with the expensive mods already done haha. I told him to call his bank today and see if they do in-office interest releases/lien releases or if he has to wait for them to mail it. That'll determine if it's no wait or a 4-8 week wait. And I figure if it is a long wait, I'll tell him I'm keeping the bike listed and if it sells it sells, cash is king.
