The Canadian dollar is only worth 74¢.

Right, but converting to USD the MSRP for Canadian destined Tacomas seems lower than those priced in the US after currency conversion.

2024 trd off road, manual transmission, underground.
Msrp was 45575 including 14'' inch screen, heated front seats, spray bed liner, door edge guards, chrome exhaust tip.

Sale Price of truck was 42575(3k off sticker), plus 464 doc fee and 280 registration since I still had time on plates.

After sales tax, it came to 46129 OTD. I had another deal for 3500 off the same truck in white, but passed since the paint will peel. I would have liked to shop around more but I was in a pinch and had to find a vehicle quick.

Dang over in Alberta the msrp for offorad manual is 52200 now the dealer is advertixing 3500 off that or a sr5, so 48700 plus .05 tax=51135 maybe just maybe its time

Trailhunter sticker I paid. Only added option of corrosion/rustproofing for $695. Taxes and fees. Out the door right around 68,200
Servco Hawaii doesn’t do dealer mark up. Or much dealer add ons.

Yea but 8.3 is the top of what can be expected currently. Sure there’s some people who might get 11% but A. Might Be lying B. There’s always that person that hits the dealership right where they need to get one more sale to hit a certain quota so they’ll do whatever

Yeah, but what truck are you trying to get a discount on? Even when times were good, It was rare to get a discount at all on a TRD Pro.

TRD Sport Premium Pkg with I-Force MAX. Looks like I will be at 6% on it. I agreed to purchase so they could lock down the allocation. Confirmed that yesterday and now the wait. Late October build date, so should see trucknend on November.

I ended up with 2 dealers calling me trying to get the sale. Neither would lower any more.

I purchased my truck in June 2024. At the time there was maybe 4 Toyota Tacoma pre-runners inside of United States. I was going to fly to Chicago, Texas, Arizona or Utah to purchase. At the time there are very few trucks available and to this day nationally I bet you there’s less than 10 or 12 trucks available. The idea behind getting a Pre-runner is I saved myself about $10,000 compared to the other models. It doesn’t have four-doors but I have a off-road TRD look with 2 Wheel Drive which is perfect for this California guy.

Im battling / shopping multiple dealers in san diego, at the moment im able to get $4600 off msrp trucks currently on the lot...
One is a bronze oxide sport, other is a sr5 upgrade package in silver....
I wasnt shopping a bronze sport, but was offered..
I cant get myself to pull the trigger on the silver....
I know its a beautiful color / truck, but just cant do it...
silver has been on the lot for almost 30 days....
Dealers are less willing to negotiate on allocated not here trucks & kinda have me by the balls on the truck I did reserve at the moment, managed $3250 off msrp....
    Comes-in in a few weeks.
See if Im able to pull a rabbit out of my hat in mean-time, I keep looking...
The sr5 upgrade, 2wd, package are limited at the moment here, even in allocation....

    MSRP $53k
    Paid $47,990 + doc fees + 4.15% VA taxes + DMV etc.
    I believe OTD was $51k

I love the Underground color on this gen Tacoma (they even had one in the showroom with the exact same options), but I always insist no more dark grey or black vehicles and yet we currently own a black sapphire metallic G05 X5 (my 5th black car). I test drove a TRD OR but the ride was too bumpy for my son, he gets carsick easily so I needed something that's made for on-road comfort. I also test drove the Ridgeline and I really thought everyone in my family would have preferred that ride and interior space, but they all preferred the Tacoma to my pleasant surprise. I need a truck for the bed and have never been off road so getting the TRD OR would have been for the potential higher resale value only, maybe I can get one when the 5th gens come out.

Thanks! I can't take credit for any negotiating skills, it was the standard price the dealership offered anyone who walked in. I had a hard time not shouting SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! when the sales guy handed me the deal sheet while he started his pitch on why I should buy from his dealership.

Many of us feel this way. I'm a shitty negotiator as well. When I purchased my truck they were short in demand. Fall of 2020. Luckily Toyota Canada had MSRP, 1.9% for 72 months and no add on's. Take it or leave it price. If I didn't take it someone else would have that same day. Basically purchased over the phone. I should have negotiated the optional add-on's tho. I figured out later that the parts guy was good at giving discounts for any further add-on's I wanted. Supply is still tight here. I see it's hit and miss in the States.

ha same here. i got 7% off via a smartpath allocation and had no desire to try to fight for more. and they came so close to my expected trade-in valuation i didn't bother on that either. i like easy.
