I bought my 2023 Tacoma new last January, and I'd like to get it undercoated before winter. There is an NHOU outfit near me in Belgrade. In your opinion, how does this compare to Woolwax, Fluidfilm, etc.? TIA.

I had my 23 off road sprayed by NHOU in NH twice now. My truck has about 36k on it, and still looks really good underneath. Time will tell in the long run, but I saw a post someplace where a guy had posted pics of his 10 yr old 4runner that has been treated yearly by them, and it still looked great underneath.

Thank you. Can you tell me roughly what it costs, and does it need to be redone every fall?

I think it was about $230....and yes, they recommend doing it every year.

I get mine done every fall with a local NHOU ( North Hampton, NH) dealer. They do good job and my truck still looks new underneath.

I go every September. You want it to be a bit warm (65° - 70° ish) so the goop flows from the sprayer and gets into all the nooks and crannies of the frame.

My SOP is to spray the underside of the truck about a week prior to my appointment to clean it. I remove my spare tire prior to my appointment to give the guy plenty of room to work. Plus, it give me a chance to inspect the spare and lube up the lowering mechanism.

Definitely worth the investment in my opinion.

I have not heard of them, but anything that is not rubber, thick coating is good. Just make sure you reapply it, they will probably tell you about it. Also, not sure if they will do that, but I sprayed my tailgate too, the plastic cover opens up and you can spray inside it.

I went to the NHOU in Chichester a few months ago. Costed me $250, and they said to not wash the undercarriage until next year just before the next undercoat

No, you are still OK. Just look for a warm-ish day. You just don’t want to wait until December.

I took my spare down, and removed the two protective plates up front before I went this year. They do spray up into the tailgate, and the hood, as well as the doors too.
