I missed the VMUTS run, but would still like to get one camping trip in before the season ends.
I'm not necessarily looking for a lot of serious offroading, just a one night camping trip at a lake, some fishing, and some light offroading.
Drive up Sat morning early, set up camp, do a light run, camp overnight and back on Sunday.
As per previous advice I've been checking the OF4WD maps, but I'm directionally challenged and am not sure where to start
I'm looking at Concession Lake in the Trent Lakes area. mostly because it has a marked camping site (apparently) near the lake.
But the trail is marked as a 3, which is probably too much for me.
Any tips/advice from people who've been out that way? Or any other suggestions for a lake-side camping side with light offroad trails about 3/4 hrs from Hamilton ?

if you found the Gooderham trail to be your limit on the Noob run earlier in the summer you might find the Concession Lakes trail to be a little more than you want. if you go, take another rig w/spotter.

 

This sounds like a good question for @ODSC1 . He ran a really fun light trail run up in Bancroft. It's all crown land, so camping is easy. Let me know if you go, I'll tag along depending on day.

 

That sounds interesting. @Saturnine - French River seems still quite a trip, about 4 hrs to get there? But I'm interested in what info you have.
@honkonbobo - I was ok with the difficulty of the newbie run, but would def go with a 2nd truck if I'm doing anything remotely 'risky' (by my standards that is)

 

I have a gpx file with 10 or 11 crownland camp sites, all but 1 with water access. These are located south and a bit east of Bancroft. The area has a huge amount of easier trails that would suit you. DM if you want the camp site file.
