I do love me a good custard concrete.

 

@lynyrd3, Look at the list of ingredients. #2 on the list is Corn Syrup, which I try to avoid along with High Fructose Corn Syrup. It's just a cheap synthetic way to sweeten up foods.

 

Man, you gots to have a local drive-up custard stand.


That's just an old-school summer essential.

 

Now when Ben and Jerry's first came out, they had some outrageous flavors, that really were quite good. And most of them had all natural flavors and ingredients. Breyers was the same way all natural without being loaded up with crap. But like most companies they jumped on the corn syrup band wagon to save money.

My favorites:

1) Antietam Dairy (local).
No crap ingredients that you need a degree in Chemistry to understand.

2) Haagen Dazs.
Yeah, it's expensive and it has a bullshit made up name that the marketers thought sounded cool (me speculating here).
It's still good.

3) Dairy Queen soft serve chocolate cone... large

 

If you're near a Braums, they make interesting stuff.

Their big thing is their whole milk - they actually partially condense it during pasteurization which concentrates the natural sugars. And then they use that to make ice cream.

 

You ain't getting off that easy.

More creamy more icy? Some ice cream is too creamy for me. I prefer a bit more icy than creamy.

You haven't tried the new soft serve place on 40? Cow's cones. Go next year when they open in the spring. Best soft serve.

Last night I was chatting with my bud, the kind of bud that we been riding bikes and getting Nintendo thumb since the 3rd grade.
