I understand. I know dealers will charge over $1000 for arms and alignment and that’s the only part I’m worried about. Also my truck is only 76k.

Are the ball joints actually bad? Or just seeping some grease?

Both boots visibly up and down torn, grease coming out but no play at all.

Well if torn then replace. I'd still recommend the whole arm. You can get them 25% off or so getting them online at a Toyota dealer. Find one that does will call pickup and save on shipping. Then have a local shop or guy like me install them.

Installed this bad @ss lift kit today. Ironman Foam Cell PRO full kit on a 3rd gen Tacoma. It's a nice kit, and I do recommend it! The owner of the truck was super cool, I had a nice day talking trucks and life with him. Cheers TW!

I bought my truck used with a spacer lift, Dave helped me swap in some proper Eibach springs and an icon rxt leaf pack which he was able to assemble. The difference between him and any shop is he will go out of his way to take extra steps to ensure that job is done more than properly, he was so anal he even took the extra steps to have all my suspension logos face out!
Plus it’s always a great time hanging out with him!

Thank you bro! Was a pleasure to work on your rig again and hang out with ya!
    :fistbump:

We learned today the difference between 3rd gen bilstein 5100's and 2nd gen 5100's. Pics below. 2nd gen 5100 definitely have more shock travel and the clip positions for height adjustment are different!

So I wasn’t too familiar with 5100s so I forgot to bring a spacer to compesante for the Tacoma driver lean, Dave had me come over today after the poor guy worked all day at his day job to put it on, talk about customer service and going the extra mile! He also greased my ucas and he even moved my struts up a notch because I didn’t like how they were sitting, super stoked how they turned out!
Can’t give enough praise about his service and level of detail can’t be beat bar none!

I brought my truck into rpm garage for an alignment but when I got there they said my jam nut on my tie rod was frozen so they couldn’t loosen it yet they still charged for me an alignment they didn’t do.
Dave found out and he was like what that’s weaksauce bring it over to my place and I’ll free that sucker and sure enough he worked his magic and got it loose! Before he left he made sure to ask about a creaking noise my truck was making I told him about and he diagnosed and fixed that too! As I always say what says him apart from any shop is no shop will do all that for you they just turn and burn but Dave will make sure it’s not only done right but done perfect

Nice post! I think the kit is great too, just a little on the stiff side. Since you install these I thought you might find this interesting, in case anyone says they’re too stiff. Ive been talking with @parkerww22 for a couple weeks about spring swap. It started off with him asking a few questions about the king spring trial I did and gave up. He went further and swap his springs out with some OME 2887 and is sitting at about 2.5” of lift.

He said the ride is much better than with the IM springs. He’s driving around, putting a few hours and had no issues. He’s got a longer drive coming up and will update after that.

He also said he’s not much of a poster but I can share his comments, in case anyone wanted to swap springs. Sharing one of his pics, hope he doesn’t mind.

Maybe on my attempt with the King coils, I didn’t have the preload right and it messed things up. I didn’t math the maths right but seems like the OME coils are the answer for a little softer of a ride.

I appreciate that! So far the owner is happy with the ride quality. But he does want to lift the front up some more. We tried to adjust the coilovers on the truck, the collars wouldn't move. We plan to remove the coilovers for adjustment this week.

I'll let him know about the 887 springs. :hattip:

Adjusting them on the truck is definitely a pita lol. First time I tried I didn’t find all the set screws that were in the collars

3rd gen over for a lift kit. I failed to take good pics today.

6112 Bilstein fronts, add a leaf rear and fox 2.0 rear. I personally had 6112 on my previous Tacoma. They are a great match with these trucks. Beefy and capable!
