Yes a Goldwing will go 100MPH for 100 miles but it wouldn’t be as fun as you might think. I put 50K on a ‘07 GL1800 and discovered early on that it was geared to get the elephant rolling but not so much for high speed. It felt pretty good up to about 90MPH and then it started feeling like there was more there but RPMs were high. 5 speed transmission.
My choice for an extended high speed run (100MPH +) would be my ‘90 BMW K100RS-4V. According to my dealer in Wooster Ohio, All Seasons (no longer in business) it was the first 4V sold in Ohio. Absolute missile. The thing wasn’t happy unless you were going at least 80MPH. I sold it partly to finance a garage and partly because I was riding super fast so often I thought it was just a matter of time before I lost my license. Definitely one I would like to have kept.

just a couple of things tbh
when i shattered my wrist it took a good while before i could ride without pain in my wrist... so i kinda learned how to shift without using the clutch which prob lead to my clutch being a bit weaker on the klx but oh well it allowed me to ride when i was hurting like hell and wasnt suppose to be lol

I looked at her website. I like her work but nothing looked familiar. Somehow I doubt I saw any of it. It will be something I'll watch for though. There are some crazy good mural artists out there.

He's commuting 30 minutes a day on it, his story lines up, he has the cash to pay it off and get a clean title, weird things sure but I'm still intrigued enough to see how the title stuff shakes out and not bail yet.

    1) First time I hit 100 was probably my 3rd month of riding. had spent a lot of time practicing on the roads around my house at the time, and there was one stretch that was a well paved, long uphill straight. Figured that was a safe place to experience it on my first bike, 2020 Yamaha XSR700

    2) 100MPH for 100mi, I would honestly choose my S1000RR. I've done the distance or greater multiple times, and maintaining that speed would be no issue. Bike is more than happy to cruise at 100mph at any gear other than 1-2

    3) Best 100mi stretch of road I've ridden is hard to say as I haven't explored much outside of southern california. Probably my usual weekend ride through the canyons that is generally about 110mi.

    4) $100 to mod a bike ain't much, i'd probably do sliders

    5) Last 100 miles would definitely be on the S1000RR. i truly love that bike.

oof everything sounded great until this post lol. Personally I wouldn't do the trade until he had title in hand. In my experience a lender will never hand over the physical title until they're paid, just provide an electronic copy if needed. but his bank might be different. The damage doesn't concern me much as long as he documented all the damage repairs, but the title is more concerning.

Hell of a turnout! I'll post some of the pics from my Cars n Coffee this weekend.

There's definitely something to be said for learning one thing at a time. Even I was a bit overwhelmed with the controls the first few rides when i started out. Now it's second nature.

Whew that's hot. They should have some suspension guys there at the track to help you dial it in no? I'm antsy to go back.

I know everyone says its bad it but I clutchless downshift all the time. Upshift too but i have a quickshifter so not as big a deal. Still haven't had to replace a clutch yet...

Yeah i definitely wouldn't do it with a car or a dry clutch bike lol. Once you get the hang of it it's not too hard to do smoothly.

Once I was rolling, I hardly ever used a clutch to upshift my YFZ450 quad, even downshifting was pretty easy to rev match. Just a simple upshift on my CB500X... NOPE. not feeling it. lol. I could probably practice and learn its sweet spot, but using a clutch is probably the smarter thing to do.

my 83 230 suzuki was like that but my 03 yamaha warrior refused to lol so it wanted the clutch to be used. my 03klx400 i could do it all day and it was fine and never used the clutch when shifting up tbh lol idk if it hurt it or not but it had a certain sound/feel and id just shift. the 14 yamaha bolt thou it does not like it at alllll so i just use the clutch lol.

I've definitely done it on my cars a few times, but never regularly. Once though i did break a shift collar on an old VW rabbit about 20 miles from home. I was able to hit 1-2, but all the other gears I had to clutchless shift in and out of. That was a fun drive in rush hour traffic lol

Smarter definitely lol. My BMW handles it surprisingly well, as does the R3. the R6 gets pretty clunky doing it unless I'm really moving. I've really been trying to use the clutch more though lol.

ya for me on the si it was a test can i? since it was a newer vehicle and wondered if it could like my 91 pickup. a few times were accidental because uhh i honestly dont know why lol id be at the right rpm and i bumped it and boop right into gear lol. i know a girl i was talking to years ago bumped it once and put it into 3rd gear lol.

Haha will do sir! I've always had a weird fascination with the 944 ever since I was looking for my first car. They're climbing in prices lol so likely to remain a dream for both of us.
