True. But the availability and usage took a long time.

IMG_4417.jpg IMG_4408.jpg IMG_4415.jpg First wash in 15 months.. finally! Added those stupid ARK inner fender splash guards that I saw someone else on here had. I had to get them because i didn’t even know I needed them or that they existed. TW made me spend money again on a truck I don’t use.

The only way to know for sure if your oil is changed is to do it yourself, especially when we request earlier intervals. The same thing happened with my 2020 Corolla took it in for its first change at 3k they claimed it was complete but when I did the second change at 6k nothing was touched, even the pink factory mark on the plug was intact. So it goes to show you if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.

There might be another way: look for a mess. I picked mine up after it's 20k oil change and I had a huge puddle of fresh golden oil on my skid; enough that it made a small puddle on my driveway overnight. They just made a huge mess - I checked the level and then took it back for them to make sure the plug was in and to clean it all up. I can only imagine the conversation between the service advisor and the tech. No, I don't mind some drips, but I shouldn't be able to see the puddle flow when changing the angle of the truck.

In other words, "if you want something done right you have to do it yourself." :)
But I don't really want to take on my own oil changes.

Correct! There are so many things in our lives that are not needed but we all indulge, abuse, and encourage. I really didn’t need a brand new Tacoma (that took me 60 years to get) but here we are, so I will treat it with the love and pampering it deserves. As far as where the used oil goes, probably the same place all gasoline goes you put in your tank.

Synthetic oil is a man-made lubricant that is made from chemically modified petroleum (dinosaur squeezeins) essentially all the unlike molecules are removed. I have a side gig where I produce a synthetic weapons lubricant Purple Panther Piss so I definitely know the advantages of synthetics.

I would be shocked if you were disappointed with the maggy, best mod ever, Towing a trailer before SC was pathetic, truck was going up for sale; but then tried the SC and now the truck is a pleasant commuter, and capable work-horse. Will not compare to your diesel, but it will give low end grunt, right when you need it. Now it is a keeper.

I purchased the Direct fit dash mount, it mounts behind the top left infotainment screen bolt and is wireless. I don't know to post links from Amazon but I just searched Direct Fit Phone Mount for a Taco and I found it pretty easy. It sits right above the right drivers AC vent and I have had zero issues with my phone overheating.
