Guy just came in with a new cv axle from Amazon and the old one from his car, said the splines don't fit and wanted to know if I could cut them off of his and weld them on the new one.............Some things you just have to say "no" to o_O

My dad always said the Arthur Riddick band would be a great jazz lounge band name.

When they start talking Cat 5, people are wigging out. I'm getting my boarding up done right chere in a few...

Anyone have any tips or tricks to replacing the alternator on a 2012 4.0? I just started it to run my diagnostic reader and it smells like you’ve been welding under the hood. I shut it off and went to lock the door, dead as can be.

Id take the belt off 1st.

Check to see if the alternator is locked up.

If yes, new alternator and a belt is in your future.

I did my alternator in my ‘07 4.0. Not a big deal and pretty straight forward IIRC. Vague memories of it being tight. This video confirms:

I'm about 86% sure I have arthritis. Hands and arms hurt up to the elbows occasionally. And I have hip and knee troubles. I try to stay moving and stretch regularly

Oh man, sorry to hear. I’ll tell you about my experience with just one finger. Just for info and not to cause concern. Everyone’s different.

I got my first shot in the pulley for trigger finger a few years ago. It was the most effective medical intervention I’ve ever had.

However, it started to wear off and I got a second shot during a consultation with a hand specialist. Not nearly as effective so I’m going back in next month for a follow up consult.

For me, the locking up is almost secondary to the intermittent and sometimes fairly painful aching in all joints in the afflicted finger. The first knuckle especially. It pops when I grip and cracks just extending it.

Finger splints are helpful when sleeping. They also have small finger ice packs that help too.

Good luck, I hope your symptoms resolve without further intervention

I've never had one, but I've been told that those shots offer diminishing returns each time

The cortisone shots didn't do anything for my knees.

I knew I was getting knee replacements, but the quacks wanted to try every avenue before the true fix.

I'm certain that the medical industry makes sure every one gets a cut...even if it's a monumental waste of time.
