The real win is to see the car about to cut off and tap the gas to prevent the braking or pull back on the arm so it shuts off cruise and you can coast to the distance...
A SMART cruise control that could do this would be great and save a lot of brake pads

Not sure it's advisable but I use the radar cruise in heavy highway traffic (e.g. Bay Area or through Sacramento during rush hour) and I think it does really well with other cars interfering, usually set on 1 bar.

I like adaptive cruise for maintaining distance with low traffic. But if there is traffic, I cancel it as soon as it begins to slow, because it continues to slow and brake even after the slow vehicle turns off the road. Just cancel then reengage.

you can hit the gas to not slow down and the radar cruise stays engaged. really helps

I have done this in the past...and have not had the need/felt the need to do so...depending on the situation.

Lately, I've been hanging back instead of overtaking vehicles...which has taken this option out of my typical driving repertoire.

Love DRCC too. But in certain situations. I use the stalk to change the pre-set speed. Repeatedly toggle down to slow down and repeatedly toggle up to gain speed.

I like to override the system too by pushing the accelerator when required.

Also, Easy to gain control back when needed or it’s being a little flaky. It was a learning curve at first for sure. Strange sensation. But once I trusted it and learned the limitations I really started to enjoy it.

One thing it demonstrates is how much power is really required to maintain any set speed driving this brick. So yeah rpm spikes and lots of shifts at times.

I do think it’s more than fine for long term use.
