Oh, a BS thread. I know that means shooting the BS, but here's some BS for you. That's my arrow exhaust.

    241006-PXL_20241006_162843805.jpg

    Story time!

I bought a set of Arrow headers and a matching Arrow exhaust from someone. He told me he'd repacked the muffler at least once with an arrow repack kit, so I was like, dope. Ran it for a year, no issues. This year the rivets had worked themselves loose, several had just come right out. So I ordered new rivets to do the job, but in the mean time I threw some bolts in there to keep the end cap secure so I could keep riding. Do you know what insane amounts of back pressure + vibration + steel bolts + aluminum exhaust housing equals? It equals the steel bolts shearing through the aluminum and forcing me to do some Doc Frankenstein shit in my near future to fix it, instead of spending another $500 to replace it.

Holy hell, that's impressive amounts of damage. Are you running insanely rich to the point where it was detonating in your exhaust? Or was that just normal exhaust pressures?

2015 Yamaha Super Tenere ES - 13.1 AFR dyno tuned and EFI - that's just normal exhaust pressures and it being able to "move" around the rivets.

    lol

Let me tell you, thank god I was just up the road when it blew. It sounded like a muted gunshot, and then it sounded like a straight pipe. I looked back, saw the core hanging out of the muffler, but I couldn't pull it out because of the rear blinker, so I just sort of meandered home while reaching back and shoving it back into the exhaust body at stop lights, because it had slid back and out.

Lost the end of my exhaust once on an MX track. Got a bit louder and pulled off to find this. Luckily was able to find the end cap. All the rivets had given way (luckily not cutting the metal like in yours). Not nearly as scary as the time the exhaust hanger bolt wore through the mount and the exhaust fell off jambing it between the frame and my rear tire and bringing me to a very sudden stop on a FS Road.

Damn! That happened to me on the Versys, except it blew the muffler straight out while on a ride and I could never find the pipe again.

Yeah, my comment was nothing political, but 1. any political themed wrap is ugly and 2. it makes your car such an easy target for lunatics/whackjobs. Why subject your car to potential damage?

Smart, because if a mod sees any of it they hand out 30 day bans... and there are at least 2 mods that ride and post in here.
