You can come down and go thru Newport then creep thru the mtns and do a drive by the house.

When @KRAMERICA came the road was still there but we've been seeing at least 12 dump trucks for the last week and a half taking boulders up the mountain and come back empty then the same trucks go back up at least 3-4 times a day to rebuild the road

I've said here many times I don't like running the lathe but being week 9 out here by myself I've been having to do some stuff on it for a couple reasons. We've been super slow for a while and we're getting a lot of stuff for the lathe instead of the mill.

My boss just ask me if he could get the guy who sold us the lathe to teach me how to run it in cnc mode would I be willing, he also said I'll bump your pay up if you want to. I said bring him on in, I need some more money.

I'll have to tell him when/if he hires someone else I don't want to move to the lathe. I ran the manual lathe we had for a couple years many years ago and I didn't like it.

I have to stand there and baby sit it because the cycle times are shorter and I can't walk away from it and do other stuff like I can with the mill

We're ready for this storm. We've been headless chicken running at work tidying up loose ends and I looked up yesterday and SpaceX launched a rocket. They don't miss a beat.

This morning I'm sitting on the south edge of a forest about 200 yards thick with ag fields on each side. This is at my empty tree stand on the north side.

I ask you if I could hunt that stand this morning. Your exact words...."you won't see anything"

 

I thought of sitting there myself, but that's exactly what I thought!

If you hadn't bailed on me, you would've been sitting here and I would have been in that stand!

 

I've got a friend in Tampa that lives on the water and he had water up to his back door during Helene. He's packed all his important documents and work stuff up into his attic and they're staying in a hotel. Sorry I'm sure you guys don't want hear storm stuff all day it's just on the front of my brain. Suns out here today it's nice. But tomorrow could be devastating. Tough to just sit around and wait.
