    Final Diameter is definitely an issue. I measure them, I have a special gauge, for diameter. I base my recondition on that. If they are smaller to begin with, I don’t do the perfect job. All you can do is remove surface area or fill depressions. if you throw a smaller diam. ball and it moves the pin, and it doesn’t fall, there is a good chance it would fall with a full side legal ball. That can make a difference between winning a tournament or losing.

    There is an older woman that bowls with a much smaller diameter ball. It’s lighter and easier for her to hold on to.
    There is no drive but she has fun and that’s what matters to her.
