In Texas the game warden tends to ask if you can put it down for them. At least my friend does. Not sure how legal that is but it puts the deer out of its misery much faster than having to wait around for them.

Utah wildlife officials can be assholes

We had a work truck smack an elk a couple weeks ago and he had to wait for some sort of law enforcement to come take care of it. 5 shots later it was taken care of.

From my experience, insurance doesn't care if there's a police report or whatever, take care of the animal if needed and take the vehicle to the body shop and tell them you hit a deer, taken care of.

Police said do it if I can so I did. Lol, nothing worse than trying to remove the broken headlight while listening to something in agony

Definitely didn't make it to work on time. Crazy to see hundreds of balloons in the skies in the mornings. Dozens launch just down the street from me sooooo work can wait.

Well I just went on a huge educational tangent. Decided to research Hot Air Balloons, but quickly found out other than the eccentrics that fly them, they're entirely boring. But on the plus side I now have a functional knowledge on the history of Zeppelins, which are fascinating, mostly because of the massive explosion risk and easily influenced method of movement... thanks Ben

Idk if they are boring but brilliantly simple. They are fun to see and hopefully I'll go for a ride some day. Something about silently flying through the air seems pretty wild to me. Being able to look down over the edge and looking straight down a thousand or more feet, kinda the thrill from standing on a cliffs edge. I think part of the wow factor here is there are so many right now popping off. The sky is literally full of them this week. Also watching them play the wind is pretty cool. Fly south, gain altitude, fly north, some of them are able to play it well enough to fly for an hour and land back at where they launched. Of course others just crash land wherever.

A balloon knocked a line yesterday and 130k people lost power lol in fact it killed Internet at work for a while for us.

But they moved the balloon away once it got juuuust about read to fly and the wind took it the rest of the way.

There's an interesting bit of WWI history where Germany used huge Zeppelins as bomber aircraft. Kind of funny to think about now. Talk about a massive slow moving easy target.

Remembering that morning in Moab when Jaxon was asking why hot air balloons were taking off so early, and Sean yelling at him

Many of them were shot down too by regular ground artillery including standard issue troop carried rifles.

So was your machine just cutting all fucked up from a faulty torch height axis? Or are you just going full spring cleaning on the thing for fun?

Spring cleaning actually! Since I disassembled the whole table, and reassembled it again, I figured I'd touch on every part of the table to ensure it's all working well.

What prompted Langmuir to send me a new assembly was my inquiry for some replacement parts. I wanted to refurbish my Z axis assembly.

They said "we got you, we're extending your warranty".

New assembly arrived with a broken key component so, I'm taking that component off my old setup and installing it onto the new one.

    20241008_103408.jpg

Meanwhile, a complete replacement is also on its way so, WIN for extra parts.

    20241008_103423.jpg

I do wish it was a torch height issue. The cutting issue was beveling larger than 3 degrees only on the top outer edge of any part. This occurred ONLY with the Hypertherm.

    Using the PrimeWeld, beveling disappeared.
