Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they can use more bright lights in the 4g tacoma. I have the basic led lights and I see many people are talking about upgrading the fog lights with stuff from Baja designs etc. The question I have are there any better bulbs for the led headlights? Or what do you guys think of the light adequacy. I live in Texas and the streets are pretty dark out here.

I find them fine. I also do not think any aftermarket SAE approved fog light is going to be better. The only way is to swap the stock fogs for actual OFF ROAD lights, not aftermarket fogs. In which then you are going to get flashed all the time.

My 2024 OR lights are fine. Much better than my 2017, but not quite as good as the 2021. Replacing the turn blinker bulb with the Lasfit LED switchback helpeda little, but just in the low beam field of view.

For dark, dangerous rural roads, you might consider aftermarket lights. Lots of options and it’s only money.

I think it's the odd cutoff of the projectors. High beam mode everything lights up fine, but the cutoff is noticeable with low beams. Having said that, I never get flashed like I did in my 3rd gen with the LED's.

There is no bulbs to replace, it's all integral. Going to have to add some lighting to accomplish such task.

The cut off is normal for OE factory LED's on the 24 Tacoma IMO. Your 3rd Gen you probably added aftermarket LEDs I am assuming and those companies can do as they wish. We have had 4 new cars of different makes with LEDs and the cutoff is the same. Very precise and definite line.

My '22 had factory LED's. I also have had or currently own vehicles with projectors, LED and halogen and am very well versed with the cutoff. I don't mind it. Our '23 Camry has the LED projectors and it is very, very similar to the '24 Tacoma. Every time I drive the little '16 Jetta with just regular non-projector headlights I swear I can't see shit

I'd add some auxiliary lighting the options are almost endless. Even if the truck had halogen headlights I'd add auxiliary lighting before anything else. Unless you find some aftermarket headlights you like the look off as those usually do not provide better lighting over OEM.

    its just you....
I have on-coming traffic flashing their headlights at me signaling to turn-off my high beams...
    When infact theyre not on...
Best headlights ive ever had on any of my vehicles....

People arent installing upgraded fog lights cuz their headlights arent bright enough.
Theyre installing fogs cuz they can...

Do all the 24's have the pitch adjustment system on the left switch panel?

From a seriously long and broad period of testing and deciding including darkness test rides of vehicles the gen 4 lighting seemed impressive if not as good as others or even better. Now with a few thousand miles and my use I say for sure.

My wife's German car has smart LED assembly which is needed for any vehicle to get Top Safety Pick + now but I like the hue of my pickup more. Also the aim down feature more than the smart assembly moving when you steer. The Tacoma fog lights give me about the same effect. On hue, our German wagon is for sure superior to some older vehicles but the Tacoma LEDs behind the smoke tint covers seem less fatigue for driver too. They seem less obnoxious when you're outside the vehicle.

I also have some hesitation on modifications from reviews and experiences of others for reliability as much as for being considerate to other drivers.

More than I need but still not enough.
I actually really like the headlights on the Tacoma. My last vehicle I avoided driving at night because the lights were horrendous, felt like I couldn't see more than 20' in front of the car. The headlights on the tacoma provide plenty of light for me and I added some pod lights for when I am out in the forest at night and want some extra light.

My 2023 tacoma with led lights were much brighter than my 2024.

IIHS does headlight testing and the 3g LED reflector headlights have just about the same low beam performance but better high beam performance.

I like the overall performance of the oem headlights and I agree they are brighter than my old 3rd gen. My complaint with them is that in 2024 we are still using a standard incandescent bulb for the turn signals unlike my 3rd gen that had beautiful switchback drls with sequentially turns.

Since I am a dealer for them I have a set of AlphaRex’s new nova series lights on order. They should be shipping middle to end of December according to my rep. I’ve run novas on a bunch of vehicles and their performance is amazing so I’m looking forward to seeing how these ones perform as well.

i think these are great, but my last tacoma (2017) was so terrible anything is an upgrade. Having auto high beam is also a nice feature that helps alot.

I just wish the driving lamps also worked on high beams even if against the law here.

On my ‘12 Xterra we could add a jumper somewhere to use driving lamp with the high beams. I never bothered because I had the Mickey Mouse offroad lights.

I'm sure you've discovered the pitch adjustment feature, but just in case you haven't I'll share that I was at first a little underwhelmed by how much light my headlights projected. Then I realized that they were set at an angle that would be appropriate if my bed was fully loaded and the front of my truck was angled up as a result. I reset the pitch and it was a whole new world. The brightest, clearest, most illuminating headlights I've ever had on a vehicle. I couldn't be more pleased with visibility at night, even without the high beams on.

Yea, but that’s a $1500 upgrade for everyone else. The lights are fine on my OR.
