RAMMat Sound Deadening

Does anyone know if Mark is still giving a discount to Tacoma World members on the sound deadening? If so, what's the code? I have sent
e-mails but gotten no response from them yet?

Not sure who "mark" is but Rick has the bxt 2 on sale right now for nearly $40 off... Dont think that you'll see much more of a discount than that...

Just as an fyi...when I emailed him a few months ago it took a day or two for him to get back to me. Talking to Marv and some other guys it sounds like he's pretty jam packed with stuff right now. Just so you know he's not blowing you off!

Yeah thanks, but that's not quite what I was looking for.

He offers a few different packages on ebay and was wondering if someone would chime in and say which one might work. I have read several places (I think you wrote it too) stating that you don't need 100% coverage, you need to do the "tap test".

Late Update: Rick did get back to me, later that day. He was very professional and helpful, just busy. He was able to answer my questions, and ship my order that afternoon so I'll have it for this weekend. I don't think he would mind if I forward the e-mail message that he sent me in response to my quantity and coverage question. It went as follows:

"You need to read the HOW TO guide on RAAMaudio.com, do not use more ensolite than it shows inside the doors.
You have enough BXT II (one package) to do all the doors and the rear wall, unless building a massively powered system you do not need a ton of mat, really If you got 3 yards of Ensolite you will have enough material for a very nice job on the critical parts of the truck. With BXT II we use a bit less coverage than the guide shows, focus behind speakers, middle of door skins, sealing up holes, etc....and do the rear wall very well and cover everything possible back there, especially around cabin vents, with the Ensolite."

Rick did end up offering me a discount on the Ensolite but unfortunetly for me I had already placed the order, (since I'm an impatient SOB I couldn't wait). Although I haven't received the product yet, It should be waiting for me when I get home today. Thanks to all for your responses. I'm installing Polk 6-1/2's and tackeling all the doors and the back wall this weekend. Wish me luck.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. The RAMMat pricing id on their website. I got one order of the Rammat and one piece of the Ensoilte foam. I had more than enough rammat to do all 4 doors, and most of the rear cabin wall. Of course it depends on how heavy you apply, individual results may vary. I should have ordered another piece of the Ensolite to cover everything, but I was running low on funds. So I made sure I had enough to cover the doors since I wanted to get the panels back on, and I figure I can always go back, order more Ensolite & finish up the cabin. So far the difference is definetly noticeable. Road noise is def muted, and there's a nice solid thump when closing the doors. No vibration from my new system in the doors. Well worth the $130.00 bucks or so I spent on it. Just take your time, do the thump test to determine the trouble area's and it should go well.

Ensolite is a thermal insulator and physically seperates vibrating parts like your door panel from the metal door skin. Its best use is to isolate buzzes and rattles and to isolate mass loaded vinyl from the resoant surfaces covered in vibration dampener. Its not a good sound deadener or blocker.
