Don't suppose anyone can confirm what voltage range should come from a knock sensor...?

All I have on a P0300 is this and can't tell where the actual divisions are
    upload_2024-9-28_15-3-33.png

Widebands are in and are coming out at 20-50mV RMS between idle and 4krpm

Narrowbands peaked at 200mV when I hit them with a flashlight

Note this is with a multimeter, not a scope. That's the next step..

Update: scope seems to show they are working correctly, but in factory open loop it just seems to not be very "loud". I'm at a loss for an explanation of these codes... Left a message for a historic vehicle insurance guy since supposedly that can actually bypass emissions requirement

Finally took all the stuff out of the bed, I can easily get the tires spinning in 1st and 2nd and 3rd will do it too but you'd have to be driving pretty violently.

Took some time to setup an ABS wheel sensor on the front right wheel today so I finally have a VSS feeding into the Haltech. Works great, figured a VR sensor wouldn't read well at low speeds but it does just fine down to 2mph with the analog to digital converter board I've wired in. Finally can configure gear detection and use it to adjust some things on the fly.

Even more boost control tuning today with @2RZNoShi1... coming up to target and not oscillating around it is a beautiful thing, even moreso when you can do it in different gears immediately. Targeting 11.5psi and after each shift it is getting within +/- .3 which is great. Not overshooting and trimming back down has done wonders for the feel. Doesn't roll off power anymore either, it compensates as RPM rises so it'll be neat to see what that does for the dyno graph.

    Good boost control.png

then we installed his air to water intercooler the rest of the way finally which I neglected to take pictures of.

His or mine? Because the right answer is both. We were working on the boost control on mine today but I'd assume now that he has a functional intercooler we will be doing the same for him soon too. Both could use a trip on the rollers now.

How much are the duty cycles varying between gears?

My system is touchy because it is a 4 port solenoid (less resolution than a 3 port) and my gate spring is 3.2lbs coupled with the fact that quick spool puts this thing on full boost rather quick.. so it varies by about .6% DC between gears usually which under steady state controller tuning is about 1psi. But using the PID control ideally has allowed us to shoot lower on the duty and have it bring it up to target very fast. We calculated it yesterday, it only took 500ms for it to regain control and tame a slight boost spike after a full throttle 3-4 (high load) shift. Proper PID control has also tamed its unruliness in denser air conditions.

Boomslang is now adding the ACT override input on a DPO on their 5VZ harnesses. Many of the early harnesses did not have this.

Allows the Haltech to control the compressor which opens up additional controls. There are more, but these are a few I recall:
    1. Not allowing the AC clutch to engage below a certain RPM, which prevents stalling. Likewise disengaging the compressor above certain RPMs so it doesn't burn out.
    2. Time on delay: raises the idle speed before it allows the clutch to click in so that the revs will not drop then pickup

If I am recalling correctly, this is something that Zane identified as an oversight when we first used their harness a couple of years ago. Good to see they are listening and made this change.

Yup, I wrote about that to them so they would assign it the proper pin in the haltech connector as well. I use it to cut my compressor off like stock vehicles do, under heavy load or possible overheat. Previously they were just picking one of the two AC pins (ACT or AC1) and calling it the A/C Activated Signal... issue is only one of those is the activation signal and it needs to go to an AVI not a DPI or SPI... so like some random harnesses would have at least that working. They didn't know what the difference was or that the other should go to a DPO.

yea I previously couldn't use my AC when idling cause it would kill the motor no matter what I did. It really sucked. Zane was a great help in getting that sorted out and properly wired to the HT.

Hmm I've not had these issues, but I do recall Zane talking about it a while back
