    Hey all,

1-2 years ago, I remember reading someone's comment that suggested keeping spare clutch hydraulics. A couple weeks ago, my master cylinder suddenly died and I was SUPER grateful that I had one in the shed!

In that spirit: What parts do you keep in your garage? Anything I should buy now and be grateful for later? Anything you think will be hard to find in a couple years?

    Appreciate y'all!

Adding two sets of LBJs to the list (one for now, one for later.) thanks!

Throttle body since my truck is an '03.

'03/'04 models had a special throttle body with an APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor), and if that goes out my truck becomes a 4000lb paperweight or yard ornament without a full throttle body replacement.

I keep a couple light bulbs in the glove box, haven't really needed much else.

Skid plate bolts are a great suggestion! I think I'm missing 1 or 2 as it is...

I second that suggestion, some how they always go missing whenever I have to drop the skid plate.

    Y'know, that's a good point: I'll add a 10mm, too, just to be safe

Little late to the band wagon but if you'd bought oem racks and cv axles you'd be a millionaire. I think electronics will be a big struggle for us sooner or later. ECM clusters AC panels will slowly disappear. I think everything else in the way of typical maintenance will be around a while longer through AM or oe.

    Never too late! Great suggestions.

I get the logic behind a steering rack, but wasn't aware that CV axles are similarly scarce.

Just checked the garage, I have LCAs with whiteline poly bushings installed, crank pulley and oil seal, water pump, and a large selection of metric nuts bolts screws and washers.

Most of the spare parts on my shelf are from jobs I intend to do, but haven't gotten around to yet. Alternators fail often, so I was happy I had my rebuilt OEM unit ready to go when the aftermarket unit died.

Second that. I’ve gone through two aftermarket alternators. First one the terminal post rusted off within 2 years. Second one just died randomly one day. Should’ve kept my OEM one and gotten it rebuilt

A collection of lock nuts from Toyota. OReilly just sells the knurled flange nuts that can vibrate loose.
