If I see a stove, a washer, or a dryer just sitting curbside in my everyday travels I will take it. However, I will go out of my way for air-conditioners and refrigerators…

I’ve told this story on here before, but I don’t know who’s heard it; I used to know older couple who brought an SR-71 Blackbird-themed early 1990s Ford Thunderbird. There was nothing like it on the road, and prior to COVID they were at almost every car show I went to.

They had an autistic daughter who was in her 30s or 40s. She drove a Hyundai, she was recently divorced, and she was reasonably attractive. We became friends, but it became apparent that she wasn’t interested in a romantic relationship, and she revealed herself to be a weirdo. I met her once at a car show in May or June 2018, and all correspondence after that was through Facebook.

Out of the blue in September or October 2019, she messaged me on Facebook asking if I’d like to split the rent on an apartment in Levittown. Keep in mind that she was not interest in dating, we’d only met in person once, and I could count the number of times we chatted one hand.

I said that Levittown was too far of a drive from my work; I’d just started working at NAVMAR at the time she propositioned me to move in with her. She misunderstood this as me saying that I did not drive.

I stopped being nice at that point and told it like it was…

I said that I not only had a valid license, but my own vehicle; I told her that my work was five miles from where I lived. I also mentioned that I lived rent-free at my parents’ house…

Why in the hell would I move to a shitty area, 40 minutes from house, into a place where I have to pay rent, with somebody I barely know?!?!

I didn’t actually say that, but she got the message from what I did say. We remained friends on Facebook, and I might still be friends with her, but I don’t remember what her name is.

The last I saw any noteworthy activity from her on Facebook was back in February or March 2020. According to her Facebook post, she had gone to New York City, and was now stuck there totally broke; I don’t know what the hell happened to her Hyundai, but she was living in a homeless shelter in NYC. Even worse, and this was TMI, was the fact that she was having her period and had no more pads. Who the hell shares that on Facebook?!?!

    People are weird.
They come up with weird ways of “asking” for money.

I have a weird way of scrolling right on by their post too……

Are you talking about her wanting me to move 40 minutes from home, or saying she needed menstrual products?

    The female product.

And rarely does it work out where a heterosexual male and female live together that aren't dating.
Along comes a boyfriend or girlfriend for one, and problems follow.

Now, in the interest of splitting rent three ways, I would allow our friend Colleen to move in with myself and Amanda. However, I have known Colleen since 2008. My short-term goal is to rent a house with Amanda and one or two other friends. At least if we are in a house instead of an apartment, we have more space to spread out.

I do not have a problem with my actual job (though I don’t particularly like it) or my supervisors. The other full-time dishwasher is a guy who is 58 years old, but has the mindset of someone much younger. He messed up his knee by bending in an odd direction on Tuesday, had to leave an hour early, and was out yesterday because he went to the doctor; I have no idea if he is back in today.

The sole part-time guy, Lester, was supposed to work the 12pm-8pm shift alongside me yesterday. He worked the 7am-3pm shift in the other full-time guy’s place, and they pulled another employee from the food service department to help me with the dinner rush. They realized that it’s an unfair to make me work.

There really should be two part-time guys in addition to the two full-time guys. There was supposedly one going through the hiring process, but that was weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything about it since. I know that one guy didn’t get hired prior to me being hired, because he had a felony conviction for domestic abuse.

I really threw a fit about having to work weekends alone without the 12pm-3pm fit and they switched Lester to my weekends. This weekend, Lester and I are both off, and I don’t know what the hell they’re gonna do if the full-time isn’t back.

Amanda has the same days off as me, and we are both off this weekend. We are driving up to the Poconos on Saturday to get the remainder of Amanda’s belongings out of her ex’s mom’s storage unit.

Lester has a full-time job in addition to his part-time job washing dishes and is pretty adamant about keeping his days off.

The replacement sticker kits and some more bloody handprints arrived yesterday and I put them on this morning; I forgot to take pics in the driveway, so I took them in the parking lot at work…

The passenger side “SPECIAL UNIT #1” is the most immediately noticeable sticker that I messed up on the first round…

I also totally fudged on the hood decal, and learned the hard way that applying it is a 2-person job…

    Nice score.
Remove the caster wheels and get clean price.
If you leave them on, they will dock you for "dirty" and lower the price on you.

Combined with the central A/C that I picked up on Monday, it’s gonna be nothing but pure profit!

About the only thing that I legitimately dislike about my truck is having to reach across the cab to roll down the passenger window when Amanda isn’t with me…
