3" lift. $10K in TRD options. Richie's semi-hidden bumper, and soon his Elka suspension
I saw it in person last week (the scrap heap). It’s in pretty good condition for its age!

But the breakover angle is worse than the Tacoma's, at least 2nd/3rd gens. The Tacoma has the same breakover angle as a 2-door Rubicon, thanks to not having to cater for rear seat legroom...

Looking for some info on Ardbeg and VMUTS trails. Have 5 day trip planned with @19Canuck and Larry the Jeep guy starting Tuesday after Thanksgiving. So, how long would it take to run the south trail from hwy 124 to Ardbeg? And what are your favourite VMUTS trails? We've done VMUTS 3 times over the years and generally end up running the same trails. Looking to try some that we've been missing. From VMUTS we'll take trail trail to Capreol then spend a day north of Sudbury before heading home. If anyone would like to join for the week or day we can keep you in the loop.

South trail from 124 to the beach area, I'm usually a 3-4 hours because I stop alot. for a cup of tea and what not.
As for v muts, it's just explore more. I find it better to enter in from north bay and drive the trails in. There are a couple of challenging spots just can't remember where they are.

    Favourite trails 93 and 91

With two vehicles I would budget 4 hours from 124 to Black Lake beach, then another half hour from the beach to the town Ardbeg.

This time we will be coming in from the North Bay side. Usually it's from Mattawa. We've done 93 but not 91 yet. We'll be sure to do lots of exploring!

Alright, I'm planning to do a trip to the Bancroft area the weekend of Oct 19-20. As mentioned above:
"just a one night camping trip at a lake, some fishing, and some light offroading.
Drive up Sat morning early, set up camp, do a light run, camp overnight and back on Sunday."

I have directions to a campsite (many thanks to @ODSC1 !), it's at Egan Lake (44.99077, -77.64412) - and also have a backup campsite in the same area.
The wheeling will be light, I run an (almost) stock truck, so nothing extreme.

I know @MaverickT883 expressed interest for coming as well, but I realise this is somewhat short notice, but if anyone wants to come along you are more than welcome!
Full disclosure: I am NOT an experienced offroader/camper/fisherman - :D

First time owning a 1500 and it hauls so nice.(my previous full size trucks have been 2500/3500s) 18L/100km was a nice surprise too i was expecting higher.

Also 295’s and -38 offset is as wide as you can go and still properly fit on a u-haul trailer.upload_2024-10-10_10-5-35.jpg

Will the Taco be trailered to trails? You are doing a full caged rock bouncer build? :boink:

Sick! I had a 2020 1500 5.3 before my dad wrote it off hitting a deer. Put 85k km on it in one year as a young teen doing hotshot towing to make some cash.

Thats the dream but not any time soon.
Would be nice to have a trailer just to have a guaranteed way home.
Rad I’ve kinda heard about hotshot towing I’m assuming its not really worth it if you havn’t continued doing it.

It's worth it but it was hard life. 10-15 hours on the road sucks, everything hurts. I did it when i was 16-17 and stacked cash to go to school.
