    It depends.

There are 2 different crank codes.
If it was a P0016 then No.

Do you remember what code it was P0016 or a P0335.

I mean, crank sensor typically don’t just go bad.
Even more so right after a repair.

I’d want to inspect the wiring to the ECM.

To know “for sure” what the issue is, you need to check wire integrity and signal.
Unless you have a scope, you can’t check signal.

If you have voltage meter, you can check wire integrity.

    I can understand that.
I just feel like I have to give you the “best” answer.
And that would be, test all possibilities first.

But I can understand if you want to try a sensor.
    You might get lucky.:fingerscrossed:

All we did was disassemble all the necessary parts in order to remove the cylinder head. I remember storing the crank sensor beside a lot of metal parts would that damaged the sensor?

    It shouldn’t have.
All it does is pick up a magnet field form the crank.

Diag for who ever what’s to check stuff.

    Yeah.
Did you check the harness and connector from the sensor to the ECM like in the diagrams? Fuses and relays good?

    I'd unplug the crank sensor.
Then place a jumper wire between pins 1 and 2.
Next unplug the ECM E4 connector) and see if you have continuity between pin 27 and 34.
If you DO have contenuity, plug the crank sensor back in.

Then check the resistance between pin 27 and 34 on ECM (E4 connector)
It should read between 1600-2800 oms on a cold engine.
