Is there a way to display all (artists/albums) on Apple Car play with an iPhone plugged in? I can see all music when stopped, but once under way, only the most “recently” added music appears.
It seems to be a Toyota safety measure, but ironically it encourages one to pick up and scroll their phone instead of accessing music via the head unit.

I’m playing the songs that are stored on my phone in iTunes.

    Welp, I can't help you there...I don't use iTunes.

It only shows a limited amount in motion. I usually just use Siri while driving to do anything.

Not true for me. I am using about 10,000 tunes stored locally on my iPhone and I can access every single one of them by either artist, album or songs while driving. Just scroll down from “recently added” choose your option and hit the alphabet column on the right and scroll thru! Sometimes it’s easier to get there by artist or album, but everything is available. It was more limited a Few years ago, but one of the iOS updates made everything available. I am running an IPhone 15 Pro, 1TB and iOS 18.0.1

When I connect using my wireless CarPlay adapter it shows everything all the time even while in motion. I’ve had two different ones and they are both a bit finicky at times but for the most part but they do work.

I usually go by playlist which it wouldn’t show all of (at least in iOS 17)

if I wanted an artist or album, I just ask Siri. It’s way faster than scrolling to it. I’m not sure I’ve ever tried to do that via the headunit while in motion cuz I don’t even like doing that on my phone using headphones.

The problem is that I drive in the mountains frequently where there is little or no cell service. No cell service = no Siri, so I need the capability to search and play through the head unit, which is also why I store music locally on the iPhone.
