Those are aftermarket. The speakers came with little emblems and my friend glued those on when we installed them. True factory JBL Tacos have larger black emblems on the woofer grilles…

Also, my truck had the worst factory sound system I’d ever experienced; I was dissatisfied with it from the night we drove it off the lot, and the only reason it didn’t get ripped out and replaced immediately was because it had an AUX input for my iPod.

 

When l swapped the speakers out of my truck couldn't believe how light they were and how miniscule the magnets were.

 

Yup, I'm running JBL in mine now too but I didn't bother with the badging. My bass amp is a JBL mono

Exactly. Not that I expect much from factory but first vehicle I've owned that had such weak magnets.

Earlier this year, a friend of mine made love to his girlfriend with the bedroom window open. Her cries of passion were overheard by neighbors, who mistook them for cries of distress. The neighbors called the cops, and hilarity ensued...

I made the mistake of making out with Amanda, in my truck, in a Lowe's parking lot less than a month after we started dating. Somebody saw this (but we didn't see them) and complained to Lowe's employees, giving them a description of my truck and saying we were doing something inappropriate. Amanda and I were innocently sitting in the truck when I saw THREE Lowe's employees walking towards my truck. Looking back on it, I should have just driven off. They approached the passenger side of the truck and I had Amanda roll down her window. The employees told us that some woman had said we were doing something inappropriate. I said something along the lines of "we were kissing, but nothing else". They seemed to believe me, but they said they had no idea if the woman had called the police and recommended that we leave just in case; I hauled ass out of the parking lot and nothing ever came of that incident. That was in February 2023...

In March 2023, Amanda and I went to the Lehigh Valley Auto Show along with Amanda's now-former friend Emily. We were next to the rescue dog corral in the Subaru section, and Amanda was sitting on a wooden bench while I rubbed her temple and occasionally kissed her. Some random security guard came up to us and rather rudely said that people had been complaining about what we were doing; I am 99% sure that this was bullshit, and that this older (50s or 60s) security guard was just a prude who was triggered by seeing a couple in their thirties giving a public display of affection. We stopped the PDA, but as the guy stormed away, I extended my right arm and gave the middle finger in full view of the whole building. I also gave Stabler Arena (the place where the car show was held) a 1-star review on Yelp, specifically citing the rude behavior of the security guard.

Thankfully, Amanda and I have never found ourselves in the embarrassing situation that our friend and his girlfriend found themselves in!

 

Earlier today at Amanda’s place, before we drove up to the Poconos…

 

I hit 207K on the drive back from the Poconos, but once again I missed the moment, this time because I was too busy jamming to The Devil Went Down To Georgia…
