Day trip from Loon to little sluice and back out. Here are some clips of my taco going slow but also some spicy lines at the soup bowl from the bigger rigs.

In no particular order… I like that line on the little sluice and the hole at soup bowl is deep!

Awesome video showing what the DCLB can do and inspiring all the DCLB to wheel the trail whales!

Thanks! Some places like steep hills we have the advantage. There's a spot called whale bone that a couple of the shorter wheel bases struggled but I walked up no problem.
I'd love to go out the Rubicon with some other tacos short or long bed. So many bad ass rigs on that trail. I saw one other 2nd gen taco but he was sas on 40's. I'm definitely in the minority out there.

I took the 4runner out after work to put some pin stripes on it. I'm almost done with the annual overhaul on the Tacoma then I'll start posting Tacoma photos again I promise.

It wouldn't be a 4runner without amber lights! Thank you!

Took a little trip up the hill on Saturday. Got the mall queen a little dirty.

Damn! That is an impressive slog. Was the end rock climbing or scrambling?

It had some mildly fun 3rd class stuff near the top but it was mostly talus, scree and a bit of scrambling.

According to Strave it was close to 14 miles round trip with 9200 feet of elevation gain (I don't think it was that much)
We split it into two days and camped at Red Lake.
The second day, Sunday, we hiked to the top and went all the way back down to the truck and spent the night at the trailhead and drove home on Monday.

First time doing Rubicon from Loon all the way to Tahoe! So beautiful, and so challenging. I had to stack some rocks 3 times but no winch use and no pulls from others.
The whole thing is tough but I felt the most challenge after Buck Island and Big Sluice was burly! Scariest part was Cadillac Hill. Super steep with obstacles and a cliff. I was so relieved once we turned away from the cliff side.
I have full armor except rear bumper. I have a BAMF high clearance rear on order but rather than wait for it I have just been bashing my stock bumper for months now. Well this trip proved that stock bumper will only last so long. I took many hits to the rear end but one hit popped out one of my tail lights and then another hit bent it so bad I had to cut part of it off with a saw saw.
Great trip. Wish I had more pics.
