Good morning everyone, have a great Thursday!

No damage from the hurricane in my part of the state. Florida is spread out enough we actually had a beautiful day yesterday, I was outside enjoying it.

I’ve got to go babysit for a couple of hours today while my son has a deposition.

While I’m waiting on the girls to wake up and have a minute let me apologize to those of you whose threads I have disappeared from. I’ve hit one of those spells were it seems like I’m going from sunrise to bedtime trying to get stuff done. I have time to check into a couple of threads in the morning then I’m on the go the rest of the day. At night I’ve been studying for my next ham radio license and it’s been a bit tougher than the entry level test. I’m taking the test on Tuesday so hopefully will at least get back on here more in the evenings.

No problems, "real" life has to take priority over leisure life like TW. :fistbump:

Just keep us posted on the weather situation so we know you are OK down there.

Good luck with the test. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

    Same.

Been doing a massive amount of driving recently.

Can't really keep up on correspondences when sitting behind the wheel.

But #retiredlife is supposed to be laid back and I get to do what I want

I’ll keep you posted on the weather, right now it’s all blue sky and sunshine for us. Hopefully that will continue for a bit. It was a chilly 55* this morning so I might have to start worrying about hypothermia and frostbite

Thanks Rusty. The test has a lot of electrical theory and circuitry in it, way more than I’ll ever need IMO. I’m not working on the radio, do I really need to know what a frequency counter consists of and how it functions o_O?

I believe it is kind of a "paying your dues" kind of thing.

Generations of the amateur radio operators before you did need to learn about working on the radios because they built/modified their own.

By making the test actual work to take they keep the riffraff out of the club you might say.
