This.. any tubular UCA is best imo. More clearance, stronger design, plenty of options.

As it'a friday, I'm going to ask a semi-serious question.

'22 Trd off-road. I want to regear. Not looking to lift. Willing to do supporting mods (cab mount chop, tubbed front fenders, marlin crawler lca braces, gusseted spindles, potentially steering rack change).

Can I fit And Stuff 35x12.5's at stock height? Can I accomplish this with tubbed fenders and limited (preferably 0) outer fender cutting?

I am not looking to lift my truck, I want to maintain both up and down travel (made that mistake on my old 4runner, losing most of the droop) but if I regear, I'd like to fit 35's and go to 5.29's. Otherwise I'll stick with 33's and stock gearing. Based on what I did correctly by accident on my 4runner (rear sway bar, disconnected front) I'm also planning to add a rear sway bar and look for quick disconnecting front sway bar links.

Edit- I don't do a ton of offroading with the truck, but I do prefer the low and slow approach, not trying to build a long travel baja truck. Just want to increase ground clearance, maintain suspension travel, and increase the trucks capabilities.

If you're doing the supporting mods and clearancing/tubbing? I think you'll be fine

Ok, thank you, I was thinking that based on reading through here.

I still need to "get" alignment adjustments down so I can figure out how to tell a shop where I want everything adjusted when I start trying to fit things up.

if properly clearance it will be fine at stock ride height. like others here we made sure tires clear all the way to the bump stops.

imo 35s look dumb at stock ride height

I believe my spc control arms are set at position G. Should I move them to E and how could that help? 35’s going on Monday and looks like it might be a little tight but hoping an alignment can get me just a little more room.

think this was meant for me. that setup was -53 offset. required cab mount relocate, major firewall hammering, cut nearly 3" off the fenders all the way around (not done in picture) , viper cut, and full forward alignment. i did get it to clear fully but was quite a bit of work. im currently on a -38 setup and have another set of scs -38 wheels ordered tho.

So I cant just put a -12mm offset wheel with 33x12.50s without doing all this? what about an 11.50?

Depends on what you mean by all this.

At a 285/70r17 you will need a small lift, high castor alignment and potentially a cmc with a -12 wheel
A 295/70r17 small lift, high castor alignment and a gaurenteed cmc, front fender liner trim and tuck
33x12.5 follow the same as the 295 and it should be ok with a -12
Re gear is a matter of opinion on a 33 set up there's much debate but it will also depend on how heavy your wheel/tire set up is. That will determine how bad it's noticed.
If you intend on street driving the truck notes above will be plenty if you plan to offroad it expect more work into the pinchweld and fender liner area.

265/70r17 or 265/75r17 even then you will have to lose the mud flaps up front and add some caster or trim some plastics. I ran 265/70r17 stock suspension on a 17x9 +1 and it cleared about 99.9% with rokblokz mud flaps

You can go bigger on stock just start cutting stuff out of the way

not wanting to cut anything you arent fitting much with -12 offset. with 285/70r17 -12 with full front forward alignment quite a bit of cutting and a cab mount chop was required even at a full 3" of lift and that wasnt properly cleared to the bump stops. (inferno truck. gray is on 35s)

If you're going to wheel your truck offroad, you will also want to add a gusset to the spindle and replace the rear spring hangers. They bend.

Do lots of research before any modifications.
    Good luck with your truck.

Helpful post! Do lower ball joints, inner/outer tie rods, or sway bar end links need to be replaced with 35s?
