    yes and no

people used to (and probably still will) drive like lunatics on that road. Too many people going too fast and / or driving completely inappropriate vehicles

but it really does open up dirt options for folks on the east / 89 side who are otherwise stuck with hwy or cinders

its nice being able to cut through from 89 to 180 without going through town or riding from my garage to the GC airport. The around the peaks loop is a lot of fun

I think a good compromise would be a gate keeper or two combined with not maintaining it for passenger cars. That would slow people down and keep the idiots out

not counting the SxSs which is a whole nother issue , the multiple speeders , rental cars and road hunters are absolutely ridiculous and need to stop

and that's how it starts...soon AZ ohv laws will mimic CA and you'll be limited to seasonal riding/red/green sticker laws and hefty fees. There was a time in AZ when ohv's didn't require registration. Too many people ruining the experience for others. :annoyed:

    its all just political bullshit.

the new laws will only change one thing, and thats the completion of a safety course and possesion of a "card" to carry with you while operating said OHV.

the rest of the new laws are actually a complete waste of time and a joke of the governments ability to make and carry out adult decision making.

it basically says if you operate a motor vehicle on a public roadway you need a drivers license. sound familiar?

they are trying to make OHV's safer for kids to operate, but its kinda like MADD, remember that? drunk driving was already against the law, but lets make it REALLY against the law, or the gun fearing idiots who want to ban guns because murder being illegal isnt quite illegal enough.

    just stupidity at work.

Ahh yes, I do remember seeing this. Im torn about it because I like freedom but I hate freedumb. I wish parents would raise their kids with respect for themselves, their property, the people around them, public lands etc. But instead parents are idiots so their kids turn into idiots and then the government has to try to do something about it. We would need a lot less government intervention if people were less stupid.

    100%

People not acting like adults winds up with the government treating us all like children.

I would much rather them enforce the laws that they have.

Holiday weekends in the Cinders cops could write tickets until they run out of paper to write them on.

Just chiming in to say how much I hate that Schultz pass is open to cars again. At the end of my ride just now, almost home, nearly got killed twice in the span of 2 minutes by cars going WAY too fast for a steep, twisty gravel mountain road. The worst part is both cars had mountain bikes on back, it was other cyclists that were obviously heading to the upper trailhead via car. Also, cant leave out the fact that the road was pristine for the last two years and is already getting destroyed by cars creating washboards all over the place.

Its a bummer. Someone is going to get killed.

They really should just stop maintaining it so that only people going slow use it

I got my Coconino NF Christmas Tree permit -- the second week of December we'll be looking for a fir tree on the flanks of Mormon Mountain. The Snow Gawds could make the trip interesting. Right now, most the snow sensors around Flagstaff are showing zero snow.

Awesome. Should be a good time.

It wont be our first time cutting a tree in Flagstaff, but it will be the first time cutting one as a visitor instead of a local, which should be interesting.

Anyone from the northern AZ area coming to KOH and passing through flagstaff that could pick up a race suit and bring it out?

Anyone want to trade TRD off road rims for my black sema 17” rims? I’m located in the Prescott area. My rims are in great shape just wanting to go back to 16” TRD’s
