so discount tire seems to be the cheapest i can find (ive looked at Big O, Sears, costco) any other suggestions on places to look at?

Where do yall find the duratracs for cheaper than TA KOs?

Im looking at 285-75-16 in TA KO for $939, Duratracs for $1084, KM2s for 1017, or a 255-85-16 in the KM2 for $899. All are 33 in tires. Thoughts?

When, I replace my tires I am going to go with 255/85/16 km2. I'm getting sick of my 285/75's tearing up my paint. After running that size for 6 years now the paint is sarting to show some wear. Plus that size is cheaper.

So i'm planning on redesigning my bed basket this summer. and I'm toying with the idea of a dual spare set up. I think it would look totally bad ass to keep 1 spare where it is now and then set the other one up against the back window at an angle? I'd built the bed basket to have the bend and hold up the tire. Kinda like a trophy truck.

any thoughts? I'll try and find a picture

I would do it. You dont loose much clearance and it puts your axles at less of an angle.

you going to mount the 2nd tire on the basket? or below the basket? seems like if you mount it on the basket at an angle you block your view, which may not matter...

i've always like the look of the angled spare in the bed, but didn't like the idea of the spare taking up the bed space...

could always move the basket forward and make a vertical mount in the rear of the basket like a tire gate has it, but it would be within the bed...

but i also think it would look bad ass, minus the loss of your view...

Just looked where i found them and realized its from discount tire direct, not discount tire. Im assuming that they are not mounted and balanced at those prices that I found. Where did you get those prices? they are cheaper than Discount Tire by about $80

The second tire would be mounted to the basket (the basket would actually be extended up at an angle to essentially cradle the tire). I already can't see out my back window so that doesn't matter. The whole basket would be raised up a little more than it is now, so i'd actually have more bed space

hell...why not then? go for it...you should build some waterproof pull out lockable drawers to fit in below the basket while you're at it (then reproduce the drawers for my truck too :D)
