I like how the chick in the back gets up all alarmed, then goes back to work like "Bob's just losing his shit again"

I feel your pain. My deck is getting old. The wood is not as hard as it used to be. I will soon have new bigger deck (queue the Blue Collar Comedy skit).

To make room for the bigger deck, I’ve spent a few weekends moving rock, removing grass, removing roots, and moving sprinkler lines.
    IMG_6059.jpg
While I was digging ditches to move the sprinkler lines out another 6 feet, I recalled this scene from “Cool Hand Luke”:
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nf3SGGAJWbA

I finally finished today. Time to rest my back and let the contractors take over.

I carry the All-Top snatch strap kit @Deathbysnusnu recommended a few years ago along with the Harbor Freight and .

I've used the Hi Lift jack to self-recover a couple of times. I have two Maxtrax that I bought for a Pismo Beach trip. I carry them and a snow shovel during Winter months.
I do not carry a winch just to save the weight. I've been able to get by without one so far.

I have had to self-recover a few times.
At Red Elephant Hill in the Winter snow, I slid off an off-camber part of the trail. I wrapped the snatch strap around a tree and the bumper then hooked the Hi Lift to the two strap loops. I used the Hi Lift as a winch to pull me up and off the incline.

When I was high centered on Kane Creek, I used the jack to lift tires and put some rocks underneath them. Preparing to turtle:

I have recovered others more than myself.
At Pismo Beach I did not need the Maxtrax for myself, but they did help free 3 people stuck in the sand. They work great in the sand, OK at best in the snow.

In Winter I've run across some people needing help. The snatch strap and soft shackles do the job.
It doesn't look like much of a slope in the picture, but it was enough to slide the car towards the trees in the slippery snow.

Bunch of old people in here...
I go thru a few batteries in the 9V, AAA and AA variety, I mean, who doesn't. I use them for work in wireless actuators. As well as at home in hobby bullshit.
Amazon is good for cheap bulk, and they don't suck. I grew up in the time of Ray-O-Vac and Eveready. God those sucked. 2 cell flashlights that produced a faint glow barely brighter than a candle.
    Anyway,
I've noticed the industrial Amazon is no different than the orange Amazon for life or adverse operating temps. Just price.
Now the Harbor Freight Black and Blue Edge batteries, those really kick ass and last quite a long time in cold weather. Every bit as long as the big name brands.

    For real.

Why spend $12.88 when I can spend over $9000 which I don't have?

I have no idea what harbor freight charges for batteries, but Costco is a good place to buy those in bulk.

I've been pleased with the Amazon AA and AAA. I had a bunch of rechargeables but they didn't last long and I found myself charging way too often.
