Rear shock clearance

I just installed a new shocks but I am concerned about the clearance that I have for the rear shock it looks like compressed (no load in the bed) I attached a picture to show please I need ur feedbacks

Your leaf springs look to be worn and sagging badly. Very common on Tacoma. You can live with it, get new OEM leaf packs (sometimes can find low mileage stock takeoffs from 3rd gen), or aftermarket leaf packs (or add-a-leaf).

I found 3rd gen TRD Pro leaf packs low mileage that gave me about 1/5" over stock. Working great and look good with a leveled front.

 

Measure the distance of the exposed shaft between the lower shock mount and shock body. Then meausure the distance between your rear bump stop and the frame.

The distance between the bump stop and frame needs to be about 1/2" shorter than the distance of exposed shaft, to stop rear compression on the bump stop rather than on the shock itself.

 

Yes, that picture doesn't look good. Either the leaf springs are sagging (most likely,) or, you installed a shock that is too long for your truck. Post some side-angle shots that show the full leaf spring length, and also post the exact make & model number of the shock absorbers for further confirmation.

 

What shocks did you buy?

These are very good tires for our weather and light

 

There's no tread left on them. They're not good for much of anything right now.

 

While looking at this I do have a question on running a longer shock.
Is there much benefit to running a 12 inch shock and relocation brackets vs the stock bracket in a daily driver that sees minor off-road.Nothing crazy.

Bald tires aren't good for any weather anywhere.

The truck is light in the tush with 0 grip. Meaning it's literally dangerous to drive.

 

Slicks are great on flat clean asphalt!

 

If

You're running a beater drifter

You have enough humph to turn them over on the drag strip

You have suspension to run a road course

Caveat. Slicks have way more grip than bald tires!

 

What would be the best leaf pack to have for this setup?

 

None of your posts describe a 'setup'.

We don't know the yr. or model of the truck or how you use it.

Right now anyone would just be guessing
