    I have a 06 4 cyl 2wd with the plain 15 inch steel wheels.
I managed to get 4 alloy wheels from a 2018 RAV4 and I have a new set of 225/65r17 tires and input on.
I want to get another RAV4 alloy wheel with the same size tire for the spare so that I can fit 5 new TPMS sensors and get the annoying flashing light on the dash to disappear.
Does anyone know if I will need to make any mods to get the new bigger spare wheel to fit under the truck?
    Thank you.

    Fellow 5 lug here, welcome!!

I've not done this but I'm pretty sure no modding needed, as our trucks (albeit in 6 lug) could have that size of rim.

The new spare should fit fine. However, the truck can only store 4 TPMS sensors so a 5th does no good unless you reprogram it every time you use the spare.

I thought I read somewhere that if the wheel has a metal inflator stem, then there is TPMS fitted and a rubber stem means no TPMS. I checked all my wheels including the spare and they all have metal stems. I have some black tape on the dash at the moment to block out the flashing TPMS light, but I’d really like to do whatever I need to get rid of the flashing light while I’m replacing the wheels and tires.

If you don't care about the spare TPMS, you can do the old "pipe bomb" trick - put a 5th TPMS in a pressurized PVC container and throw it under the rear seats. There are multiple threads here about doing it, some guys put ALL of their TPMS in there because they air up/down frequently and hate looking at the light, or don't want to have to reprogram TPMS in the ECU when they change winter/summer wheel sets.

    The name is very fitting...

I can't tell what material is in the photo, but I certainly wouldn't make one out of PVC and try to fit the valve stem in there.

Can't you adjust the desired pressure for the sensors? I recall my second gen had a button under the steering wheel to reset the sensor / notification. Is it possible to reset it while the sensors are at atmospheric pressure (i.e. no pressure)?

A good reminder to always wear eye protection when fucking around. Possibly a face shield too, in this kind of situation.

I’ve been using one I made out of PVC for 5 or 6 years now. I have all 4 of my sensors enclosed. Zero problems, works great! I keep it behind my rear seats.

Then it wasn't properly made then.

A 2 inch schedule 40 PVC Pipe can withstand pressures of 280 PSIG a 2.5 inch PVC can do 300 PSIG.
