Truck Camping Photo Thread

No camp fires while camping? That sounds Un-American.

 

I prefer clean air scented with pine etc.

 

A couple from recent trips

 

My first visit to the Wyoming bush was a success. I spent the first afternoon and night by myself (buddy arrived next day). Not really by myself tho, as i had the BC and after supper i just sat in a chair with no fire or light and watched the range cows stroll by, the sun set and then stars/milky way pop out - nothing like seeing that at altitude in the pitch black mts Other observation is just how many Satellites go everywhere in the sky - etch a sketch like..

 

I picked up a portable propane fire box recently. Firebox brand. No smoke and still gives you the nice fire ambience that you have to have while camping.

 

Seen quite a few of those on some recent trips, the cool thing is they burn clean ( no smoke ) and you just turn-it-off with fewer worries of
starting a fire that burns half of a state.

 

i’m real happy with it so far. I think I paid 120 bucks for it. Not only is it nice for sitting around the campfire eating dinner at night, it actually was really nice to have in the morning to get warmed up a bit. No smoke and takes about two seconds to have a hot fire going.

22 degrees - daum... we hit 108 today.
Middle of October mind you and it hit 108.

At 7:15 pm it's 92 degrees outside and feels rather comfy.
We are dipping to a brisk 72 for the low....

 

How many likes can I add to this?!
Never seen the Northern Lights and it is super high on my bucket list.
Been lots of low latitude events this year, but I live in endless suburbia and lights.

 

I'm in SoCal, very few places or times you can have campfires anymore. I'm leaning to getting one of those propane fire things.

Wednesday I packed up the truck and pup for a quick overnight at a close by Georgia WMA - Blanton Creek WMA. Beautiful night. Did a little exploring in the morning.
