Here’s the thing…I just sat down, unwrapped my snackie and two came in. One wandered off, the other, see pic. My snack sat on my knee for two hours.

Years ago I had a job as a golf course superintendent where the members appreciated me and my crew like me. That allowed me to fudge a little bit and hunt during the week. Still I had a job to do so it was out of the tree by 9:00 and at work by 10:00. One morning I was about to get out of my stand when I noticed some movement. It was a nice sized buck walking in, not a shooter, but a nice deer. I decided to wait until he passed through to get down. He ended up bedding down about 12 to 15 ft in front of my deer stand. So what to do? I didn't want to just stand up and bust him out of there, but I really needed to go. The solution I came up with was to take my half full 20 oz Coke and throw it down next to him hoping it would prompt him to get up and leave. Threw Coke. Watching Coke go through the air I was like s***. Coke hits deer. Deer stands up, looks around, and walks off, like 20 oz Cokes falling out of this sky and hitting him is an everyday occurrence. I thought he would be off like a rocket, or that he might be curious as to what hit him. Neither, just indifference.
