Little cool on my ride in to work this morning. Had to turn the heated liner on. 42 degrees heading is but should be around 60 when I leave this afternoon.

We should go for a ride up to the Poconos some nice scenery there. Or places by water are good for pics too.

I might have a window shopping problem... counting down the days/weeks to the 701 supermoto swap

    upload_2024-10-15_10-9-27.png

(keep in mind the total isn't real.. there are multiple types of "things" in there for some items, e.g. tail tidy, heated grips, slave cylinder, etc)

So wanted to get your guys thoughts on this…

Since I need to tow both bikes to the track I have to get a bigger uhaul trailer. Found out my 7” drop hitch is still a little too tall so I slapped this together…should be safe enough right? I have a 10” adjustable on order just in case but I think this should be fine.

I would be fine with that, I can't imagine you'd overload it on pull weight or tongue weight with two bikes and a small trailer.

That looks like a nice ride, says about 3 hours / 160 miles from me.

So just waiting on him to get the title? Solid list there too, you can also add a KTM USB port very easily the connector is sitting unused behind the headlight.

If you want aluminum bark busters. Get highway dirtbike ones imo.

The oberen will do fine for a slave. The rekluse doesn't offer anything worth the cost also.

Yup, he paid it off yesterday, I believe, and his bank told him about 2 weeks to get the title in the mail. So hopefully early November?

Noted, I'll look into them! I know a few people that are real happy with their HWDB guards. And yeah, I found the oberon after the rekluse, I don't see any reason to spend more on a rekluse. Maybe color difference haha.

Been a bit MIA on here, been busy at work (fun things at work) and projects at home.

Getting ready for a yearly trip to the desert with buddies for all sorts of degenerate things, including lots of dirtbiking for a subgroup of the 10-15 total that come on the trip.

One buddy of the group expressed some interest in learning to ride and was talking to me and another few of the guys over some beers about it and I was like... dude, use my XT225 and the dirt is a perfect place to learn ANND we have this trip coming up.

So last night I transformed the XT into dirt mode. Rear top box / rear rack removed, mirrors removed, handguards on, essentially brand new dirt tires back on - ill probably swap to the 13tooth front sprocket from the stock gearing 15t for a little easier time learning the clutch, easier time for the bike to push the MASSIVE (for the lil xt) 120 wide dirt tire and to create some tire clearance in the rear swingarm.

We go out to the little lake right by Lone Pine CA on the 395 up Owens valley. It's a fun time riding dirt in the area, you can get up to 10kft across the valley from mt Whitney (the salt tram is a freaking modern marvel, cerro Gordo is cool), go ride out in the middle of lake olancha and be pretty much unbothered and weather is usually *fingers crossed* decent around this time of year. There has been one or two cold years (mid 20s at night) and windy years. But it comes with the territory

I think my 6" drop hitch was too tall when I got my AT. I was borrowing everything, so beggars cant be choosers. But I got home safe, so it worked for the single trip.

that's a cool area. i would deal with that cold for the riding

I figure probably best to level it as much as possible, what with the trailer being pretty long and heavy, loading up 2 bikes, and traveling about 7-8 hours total across the crappy southern california freeways
