    My understanding is the version of Android that is on the pixels is formatted specifically for Google and does have some significant variation from the Android that is pushed out for other manufacturers

    6a here. Might upgrade in a few months. Phone has taking a beating over the last couple years

    Google is Android of which is based on Linux. Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, etc. have their own variations of Android OS.

    They should release their own variants soon. Last phone I had was a Samsung that had a lot of bloatware.

    I only have 2 apps installed, Firefox & my security camera.

    Anyhoo, the update went well.
