I just did my 1st gen. Lots of whitish smoke for a lil bit then it feels like its running smoother.

I am actually looking for a thread on a Mazda board where the guy bore scoped before and after and seafoaming did make a difference. Problem is that those motors are direct injection and they tend to get much dirtier than motors with our motor's design.

When I was 17, my Buddy and I Seafoamed his 1987 Ford Ranger, and it blew the piston rod threw the oil pan. Never tried it after that. Fluke, maybe but I have heard a plethora of stories on the pros and cons of this stuff. Not really trying to use a method that the original use was intended for carburetted engines, on a 30k truck.

probably hydrolocked it. I agree though, I won't use the stuff on my truck since it idles perfectly smooth right now. No reason to mess with something thats working fine.

My truck has almost 100k starting idling a little rough and accelerated rougher than back when it was new, used sea foam, cleaned the throttle body and Mass air flow sensor all in one take and the truck rides brand new again. I would suggest doing all of these at the same time for the best result.

    Too few to list.
Put some in the gas and very slowly feed through brake booster line, don't just dump it in. Turn off motor, wait a few minutes then start. Enjoy the smoke. I would recommend changin the plugs after.

I use half a litre of Lucas Gas Treatment once a month and my vehicles have always run perfectly.

Sucking it through booster line wise,
Used on a 1997 S10 and it really did smooth out the idle. Tried it on a 97 accord, did not help, but it was fixed by adjusting idle speed.

    Pour in with gas wise,
Never felt the improvement I had in the s10. I use it as a fuel injector cleaner, use it everytime I change my oil.

Wow, half a liter is almost 17 ounces, and that's 3 times the amount recommended for Lucas Fuel Treatment normal usage. How big is your tank? Don't mean to thread jack, just curious about this half-liter dose.

I usually use half of it sucked in through the brake booster line or another vacuum line, then pour the other half in the gas tank.

My only brand loyalty it to my bank account. I will drive whatever meets my needs at the best price. I have had 2 Chevy, 1 Isuzu, 1 Nissan, 2 Jeeps, 1 Pontiac, 1 Saturn, 1 Toyota. Other than the Pontiac and Saturn (which my wife bought in bad shape) all have ran great until the day I got rid of them. Fact is no matter what brand, you take care of your shit it will last, you don't it will not.

Lucas products FTW. I use a bottle every time i fill up, just throw it in there before they start pumping. that way it pushes out the remaining bad gas and replaces only with good gas.

Yeah, I don't think we used too much, and we did pour it into the gas. The truck was running alright for a Ford, prior to the use. He was looking for more power, power which wasn't there anyways. I am not saying it was the "Sea-foam" either, just saying. The thing smoked for like 3 days too, still laugh when I think about it.

regular size tank (20 or 21) I know its tripple what they recommend although I have been using this method for many years with numerous trucks and it seems to work best.

My 99 Prerunner would not idle. If you took your foot off the gas it would go dead. I cleaned the throttle body and used a can of seafoam in the gas tank. Problem solved! I may add a can to about every 5th tank or so in my 2011 .

I usually do mine every 7k and my wifes acura thru the brake booster vacuum line only use 1/3 of the bottle. Hell I even ran some in a 94 2wd that I aquired for free just needed to re-do the timing chan and water pump. Ran sea foam thru it and there is 332000 miles on it and no problems. You need to understand with this new ethenol fuel there is more build ups of carbons and residue which results in less performance. Keep it to the govenment to throw a wrench in the works. Works great as a fuel stabalizer as well.

Honestly, I have used that product on many different vehicles with some results in each case, most of them in fact were fuel injected engines as well. Lets see, a Jeep TJ, YJ, JK, XJ, ZJ, Honda Accord (95), Honda Civic (01), Acura Integra (95), Ford Bronco II, Toyota Tacoma (pre 05) as well as the truck I have now (08). I have done everything with it, cleaned throttle bodies, poured it into the gas tank, and I have even added to the engine oil one time to try and cut tons of crap out of an old XJ that I was trail riding alot. I got the Jeep really cheap and did not drive it everyday, so I decided I would see if it would cut the junk. IT worked well, but the entire time I rode around with that stuff in the oil I thought man this engines gonna give. BUT it did not and alot of nasty shit came out of the drain, I replaced the oil and then changed it after 1,000 miles and it was running way better, and smoother, esp. on the trail. Not that Sea Foam is the end all, I have just used it with decent results many times. I would say to ask the guys over at Bob is The Oil Guy.com They have alot of actual numbers for oils and for additives like Marvels and Sea Foam. Its a great site to learn about lubricants as well.
