I've had a few wildgame innovation cameras, they worked ok. I saw deer walk in front of them and didn't get a picture though.

The Spypoint I had worked for a couple years then wouldn't turn on.

I had 2 Browning cameras, one quit after about a year.

I'm down to the one Browning camera now and checked it yesterday. Turned it off, switched the card and it wouldn't turn back on. Got to messing with the switch, it came back on but wouldn't turn off. Guess it's time to chunk it soon.

My lower camera is a Browning.
    So far so good.
My girls are around all the time, and a couple other critters..

A bit disappointed so far this year, we saw quite a few deer on this property last year, I have 2 feeders this year (vs 1 for last year) and seeded 2 food plots and I don’t have a single picture of a deer, I did see some tracks in the plot but due to the ground couldn’t verify they were deer tracks.
It could be a combination of it being very dry this month and my parents are building about 600 yards to the north-west.

I wouldn't think the building would deter the deer from showing up. Especially at night. Don't know what to tell you about not seeing any though.

If you have acorns dropping around there I would guess that thats where they're at.
I agree with @six5crèéd , I doubt the building would bother them too much.

They're falling like crazy here. The few deer that I've seen in fields are generally standing under an oak tree.

With all the trees (especially white oaks) that just fell during Helene, the deer can munch acorns from the tops of the trees!! :anonymous:

Yeah, there’s gotta be other factors I’m not seeing, we’ve owned this property for 2 years now and the wildlife has been very resilient to people, I was getting chrono data last year and had a turkey walk across the field maybe 30 yards behind me. I haven’t noticed a lot of acorns but if I’m actually up in the woods I’m usually in a skid steer.

I’ll have to check for acorns, we have a majority of pines on the property but we do have some oaks. We have almost a full acre of food plots planted, about half is cabbage, turnips, and collards, the other half is rye, oats, peas and radish. I’m hoping when those start to take off the deer will count on that as reliable food as it gets cold and the food supply starts to dwindle.

Tomorrow is the Super moon!! Should be bright as heck for deer to feed all night!!

As the full Moon after the Harvest Moon, this will be the Hunter's Moon. The earliest written use of the term "Hunter's Moon" identified in the Oxford English Dictionary is from 1710. According to the Farmer's Almanac, with the leaves falling and the deer fattened, it is time to hunt. Since the harvesters have reaped the fields, hunters can easily see the animals that have come out to glean (and the foxes that have come out to prey upon them).
